After my experiences with owning a Phoenix Arms HP22 (same company), I can easily say that I would MUCH prefer to have a Taurus PT-22 than a Jennings/Jimenez J-22. Better fit and finish, better materials, better function (easier to use) ... just a better gun. Those "Ring of Fire" guns BARELY even qualify as good plinkers, much less as cheap defensive guns. Sure, they've got a lifetime warranty, but a warranty won't help you if/when you actually NEED to use the gun and it fails on you, y'know?
I've owned a TaurusPT-22 and a Jennings, I kept the Taurus, tossed the Jennings it was crap. The PT-22 was a dandy pocket gun, VERY reliable and well made. I've owned 3 Taurus autos, they make a good gun. Their PT-92 is a great 9mm.
