The green one is awesome. A little icy viper. I do love VW for making such a good car like this, also I like Passat, CC, Phaeton, Touareg. VW is a real "das auto", having a reasonable price and good quality.

@Millsy909 Sports Cars + Automatics shouldnt exist. Your comment on diesel though, I must comment on.. Diesel has two main advantages over gas. Much better fuel economy and much more torque.

I don't care. A lot of the time I am the first to state that Volkswagen are not a premium brand, but rather and 'average' car maker. Oh sorry, I must correct that. The J.D. Power reliability survey in the U.S. says the same thing.

Not here for popularity / dreaming, but reality. Incidentally, fuel pumps fall of the latest Passat. VW also can't make rear break lights that don't malfunction. Aus Liebe zum Auto ... lmao! That so - called Scirocco is ugly. It makes an Astra look like a Ferrari!

Overal VW is a great brand. And taste is a personal matter. I find it a beautiful car. You don't. That doesn't make it a bad car.

You obviously own one, and people who own a car rarely say anything bad about it. They are average - statistically. Mine went on fire, after the dealers relieved me of £2,000 with no result ( intermittant fault ).

I then bought a Volvo which I have been driving every day since March 2001. It now has 150,000 miles on the clock and has never let me down. It's been everything the VW should have been ( according to the image ). Never said my opinon was final btw, did I?

Now on your case: You just had 1 bad experience. A car fire can happen and has happend to almost every brand of cars.

Absolutely. The only problem for me was that 2 VW dealers ripped me off to the tune of £2,000 on the pretence of fixing it in the months leading up to it. As one of them said when I complained: "Ah sure, we sold a lot of beetles ... we must've done something right".

It's a bit like a ford dealer saying that because they sold a lot of Model T's, it doesn't matter what goes wrong with the Mondeo! I didn't say VW were bad, no, they're average.

But a cardealer who is a jerk has nothing to do with the quality of the car. Point being: You had a problem. A dumb arrogant cardealer couldn't fix it and you got a car fire. All still part of one incident. I had a VW and it had a failure too. The battery failed. It had served for 7 years and had to be replaced. But that doesn't mean that the VW is a bad car. If my dealer couldn't fix my battery i would be stuck with a car that doesn't start, but that doesn't make it VW fault.

no way. diesel engines are not placed in vw scirocco or in any sportscar apart from audi r8. why don't you try the 1.4 turbo/compressor with 160 bhb? it pulls out like a 2.5 litre engine!

at the moment there is only the 140bhp 2Litre turbodiesel as seen in the passat cc or the golf 5/6.

there are no further informations about a 170bhp dieselengine from VW Germany at this point.

i don't think so. diesel engines are placed in family cars only or in 5door cars. see that diesel engines in audi a3 are placed only in sportback models

I hear that this car is sporty perfect handling etc etc. This review says that that its the king of understeer. What can i believe... Only my experience i think.
