@blackbadmac The rank of a master assassin could be easily achieved by Ezio's recruits. Mentor is a higher rank because he was placed at the head of the order by Nicollo Macievelle in AC:B. Just like how Al Mualim was the mentor of Altair.

They have the power to order, train and recruit other assassin's. Even when Yusaf was head of the assassin's in Constantinople, Yusaf still looked up to Ezio for orders and answers. Grand Master Assassin's are judged by their actions and skill. Mentors are judged on their wisdom in combat and choices.

I think Mentors are of higher rank because their skill and wisdom are what permits them to be a leader of the order. They had the final say in any decisions made by other assassin's.

So assassin's around the world started electing Mentors, who are of very high skill and intelligence, to recruit, train and lead assassin's in a certain area.

So in a sence, they kind of had the same quest. Ezio was the only assassin in his time to view the messages in Altair's seals to find the library and there laid Altair's apple where Ezio sent Desmond the message. And Desmond found out how they were connected, through reliving Ezio's life.

@blackbadmac Okay lets start with Desmond. In Revelations he is in a virtual body in the blackroom where he meets subject 16. Subject 16 tells him that, in order to preserve his sanity he had to create a synch nexus. This is only achieved by reliving moments of significance in Ezio's life. This enables Desmond to awake from his coma.
@blackbadmac Now Ezio. We know that after Brotherhood he failed to learn his place as the Prophet.. So that was his main quest in Revelations. Ezio believes that the answers he seeks is in Altairs library, but in order to open it, he has to find 5 keys. The keys can only be seen by Ezio because he was the Prophet. At the end, Ezio opens the library and finds Altairs apple.
@blackbadmac The Apple then bursts into life. Where Ezio finally understands his place and gives Desmond the message. After Ezio's message, Desmond is then transported to Tinia for another message. Desmond then awakens. But it was Ezio's last message that transported Desmond. Without that message, who knows if Desmond would have lived.

Baiscly Altair helped Ezio to find the apple and made him see his memories for desmond but also so that ezio can pass on a message to desmond using the apple so he would chat with Tinia

Look I know you'll do anything to defend Ezio. I was just like you. I was all for Ezio. Now I like both assassin's equally. Altair did more to preserve and protect the brotherhood and Ezio did more to stop the Templar threat from rising in Europe. They were both legends for their own reasons.

its a bit unfair really as weve had 3 stories now involving ezio,weve experienced him through his adult life,more gameplay and by far superior weaponary.I was lookin forward to playin altair in revelations but felt a bit let down with the lack of gameplay involving him,but to be honest i felt let down with the whole game really,by far the worst assassins game.

Altair wants to be an assassin. Also Altair cut his one finger to wear the hiddin blade and Ezio used Davinchis blade without geting his hand to bleed. I voted for Altair, but one a one-on-one battle Ezio would win with his arsenal of weapons. BUT if it were blade to blade, sword to sword, Altair would win no doubt.

@assasinsapprentice30 I know that but at the same time he has crossbows, bombs, axes, hook blades, ect. But realisticly I think Altair would win but just have a challenge. Ezio wins with carying all the weapons, but Altair wins because he's such a badass he only needs four weapons and was a master assasin at 17.
Altair could not swim because he didn't swim at the time hes doing the missions in Desmond's memory.. :p Altair is a good assassin better than Ezio.. @blackbadmac Thats why I said "Ezio did more in a shorter time". Altair basically spent his entire life fulfilling his purpose. Ezio didn't ONLY drive the templars away from Italy, he stopped the rise of Cesare, and by that feat he practically saved all of Europe. Then he became a leader of the order and proved to be one of the greatest assassin's since Altair. Ezio rebuilt the order to its former strength in Italy and Constantinople. And by learning his place as the prophet, he saved Desmond.

@blackbadmac Well in Revelations, Desmond needed to know how Ezio and Altair were connected to get out of the blackroom, right? Ezio also had a quest to uncover his purpose as the prophet. So in a sence, they kind of had the same quest. Ezio was the only assassin in his time to view the messages in Altair's seals to find the library and there laid Altair's apple where Ezio sent Desmond the message. And Desmond found out how they were connected, through reliving Ezio's life.

@blackbadmac Okay lets start with Desmond. In Revelations he is in a virtual body in the blackroom where he meets subject 16. Subject 16 tells him that, in order to preserve his sanity he had to create a synch nexus. This is only achieved by reliving moments of significance in Ezio's life. This enables Desmond to awake from his coma.

@blackbadmac Now Ezio. We know that after Brotherhood he failed to learn his place as the Prophet.. So that was his main quest in Revelations. Ezio believes that the answers he seeks is in Altairs library, but in order to open it, he has to find 5 keys. The keys can only be seen by Ezio because he was the Prophet. At the end, Ezio opens the library and finds Altairs apple.

@blackbadmac The Apple then bursts into life. Where Ezio finally understands his place and gives Desmond the message. After Ezio's message, Desmond is then transported to Tinia for another message. Desmond then awakens. But it was Ezio's last message that transported Desmond. Without that message, who knows if Desmond would have lived.

@supernover8781 oh, well i thought that was a little perk that aloowed you to send messages throught time but its not exactly just Ezio that saved hime because remember 16 said that desmond needed to vist his ancestors memories untill THEY had nothing to show him and altair does count as one of desmonds saviour.
Baiscly Altair helped Ezio to find the apple and made him see his memories for desmond but also so that ezio can pass on a message to desmond using the apple so he would chat with Tinia

Tinia: Sent desmond on the most importan mission on the world and woke him up.
Desmond:Stops the woprl from ending.

@blackbadmac To be fair, I think Ezio did the majority to help Desmond. Ezio was the Prophet, meaning he was the only one who was allowed to view key moments in Altairs life. Without Ezio, the keys would have never been viewed for Desmond. And the message from Minerva.
Altair helped Ezio by being his mentor.
Ezio helped Desmond by training him and by being a conduit.
Desmond stops the world from ending.

Look I know you'll do anything to defend Ezio. I was just like you. I was all for Ezio. Now I like both assassin's equally. Altair did more to preserve and protect the brotherhood and Ezio did more to stop the Templar threat from rising in Europe. They were both legends for their own reasons.

@jazber14 Abbas and Altair were close friends in their childhood. So close, in fact, that they started to call each other brothers. They grew up and trained together. It wasn't until Altair saw changes in Abbas' mood and it effected his training. Altair knew that it was about Abbas' father, so he told him the truth. The next day Abbas suggested to fight with real swords, and then he tried to kill him. From then on they weren't brothers any more.

@jazber14 All Abbas wanted was power, he tried to convince the people that Altair was being selfish with the Apple, when really he was protecting the brotherhood from its raw power. Then Abbas killed Altairs youngest son, so Altair became enraged. His wife tried to stop him but it was too late. Maria's death was collateral, you can't blame Altair for what Abbas did to his family.

Altair only became arrogant and careless once he reached the rank of a grand master assassin, but soon came to realise the true threat is still about, he learnt from his mistakes and became a wiser man.

@jazber14 and altair went straight through a war when he was 25 and stopped the war. he was master assassin at 17 and grand master assassin at age 26, ezio is 52 and he still is master assassin, and altair died with a purpse, he rtappes himself in a vault with another apple and sied in there at age 96, ezio died of a heart attack while he was shoping.

@jazber14 yeah, but Ezio had clones of himself, plus you can easily kill the pope with throwing knives, Al Mualim had clones and after you finish the phase with his clones (and you have to guess which one the real one so you have to hope to god you get lucky) and you can't easily just use a throwing knife to kill him because to kill the people in the first you had to use the hidden blade.

its a bit unfair really as weve had 3 stories now involving ezio,weve experienced him through his adult life,more gameplay and by far superior weaponary.I was lookin forward to playin altair in revelations but felt a bit let down with the lack of gameplay involving him,but to be honest i felt let down with the whole game really,by far the worst assassins game.

Ezio jokes, is intrested in girls and gets them. He also has more advanced weapons, and has showoff fighting style. Altair is hardcore seriouse deadly assassin, totaly no intrest in women and has old weapons, not a showoff but killer. Ezio is an assasin because of his family that got killed. Altair wants to be an assassin. Also Altair cut his one finger to wear the hiddin blade and Ezio used Davinchis blade without geting his hand to bleed. Altair could not swim because he didn't swim at the time hes doing the missions in Desmond's memory.. :p Altair is a good assassin better than Ezio..
