but anyway, when you look at it from a safety standpoint, gasoline is a HIGHLY combustible substance and if you were working in a lab or a factory with materials HALF as combustible, only trained and qualified people would be able to touch them.

I even checked the gas cap myself to ensure it was tightened properly. My guess is that its just a cultural thing.
