Hutch just to let you know the twitch your talking about actually started on Half-Life Counter Strike 1.3 way back in 2001 on PC both aim spinning and rapid weapon swap got carry'd on to Xbox by pro gamers from WCG and CPL, weapons swap with sniper rifles was to meant shorten the animation between shots totally skipping the rifle cocking but its more of a habit now as COD don't allow it to work and it isnt even needed in halo i still do it myself =] also DO MORE HALO!!

Just thought I'd let you know that Ogre 2 and his brother Ogre 1 were both pros in halo 1... and that Ogre twitching [I'm pretty sure] comes from halo 1, where the reticule would sometimes become misaligned with your sticks, and twitching them like that would make it central again.

It makes me laugh the way people automatically compare CoD to Halo. They are first-person shooters; that's where the similarities end. The playstyles are completely different, the guns are different, the players themselves are different. The core Halo community and the core CoD community are totally on different levels. In my opinion, Halo is a better game for my style of play and what I want to get out of a game, but I play CoD when I can just chill out and use less brainpower.

*OGRE Twitch FACtS* the reason that ogre 2 does that is because in halo CE: (which there were pros in) the aim was off centered and doing the ogre 2 twitch would recenter it. Hope this helps

hutch, the 'ogre twitch' originated in the first halo. the very early xbox controllers were pretty bad, and the joysticks would lose their calibration during gameplay, so players would spin the analogs to recenter and recalibrate the stick. this became a habit among good players who brought it to halo 2. from there, other players saw people doing it and picked it up.
