What are you using to scuff up the controller like what is it called?

@SycohDesigns most commonly referred to as scratchy pads, its like steel wool, except alot stiffer and used in the kitchen for scrubbing hard cooked on food and such off dishes.

I would add one step to your cleaning process. From the point where you pull the controllers out of the water, wear latex gloves. Oil from fingers LOVES plastic.

dish "soap" ? or do you mean dish "detergent" ? some of the soaps have oils in them to moisten your hands.. there is also a fundamental chemical difference.

@TheRocketSilo Dawn works great. Yeah, you just want the degreasing stuff. Even the moisturizing kind works as long as it cuts grease. It's kinda hard to go wrong...

my friend and I have been using auto primer and auto paint with rustoleum clear coat and it works its very durable
