Hey, your video is really awesome! I'm looking into forgein exchange for the 2012-2013 school year in France. I actually live in Montana! It's really cool to hear that you came to Montana, what town did you come to? Also what program did you go through to become an exchange student and how much did it cost? Thanks so much! I hope you enjoyed your time here.
Vildt ! Det lyder som om det var helt fantastisk ! Jeg skal selv afsted et år til USA næste sommer ! Det bliver Awesome ! Jeg glæder mig vildt meget!! Men rigtig sød video ! :D
It looks like you had a great time! :) I'm from the USA. I'm in high school and thinking about being a foreign exchange student in Italy or England. I just don't know if I'm brave enough! I might get home sick. But it seems like it'd be an amazing experience. Was understanding English and our slang hard at first? Did it get easier? Or was it always easy for you? And did your English improve?
Jeg tager til Washington, USA til august som udvekslingsstudent. jeg glæder mig helt sindssygt, og det bliver bare bedre af at se, at du har haft et super godt år derovre :)
such a cute video...i'm also thinking about going to the USA for about a year of sth...so it's kinda cool to see how much fun you had...hope my trip will be the same... =)
Hi I'm from Venezuela and I will be an exchange student in the US in august.. could you give me your email so I can ask you some questions about your experience thankss
Good to see that you had a fun time here in the States! I've heard from many exchange students that America is a surprisingly pleasent experience; I'm always interested in hearing what foriegners have to say about American culture! I'm actually planning on signing up for my college's study abroad group...I would like to go somewhere in Europe. They offer classes (that count!) in Spain and Germany, but I'd also like to visit other places like Sweden, UK, Finland, wherever it is! My goal is to go!
Where's your "real" home ? I'm goin' to the US 2009-2010 and I'm like superexcited about it ! How was the people ? the school ? gosh, I have SO many questions :D
People were nice, very interested in who i was and where I was from... Helped me out a lot in the beginning when there were things I didnt understand and such. I went to a good school.. heheh
If you've got any more questions, feel free to send me a message :)
Oh, I'm from Finland... :P I'd like to know about like how strict the host family was ? Like did they let u go to your friends or did u have to call them like every 20 minutes or so ? :D
well my family was very religious, like you have no idea, so there was no swearing and such and they said prayers before every meal and such. And I lived far up in the mountains, so it was a little hard, but when I was with my friends they let me be there. We agreed a time for me to be picked up the day before.. But every family is different...
Yeeah... I applied to the west coast so yeah... I've heard that unlike here in Finland, where people are pretty much the same in the east and west, in the US like the west and the east coast are completely different, besides i think i'll end up in California Arizona or Nevada so... :P But I think I can handle prayers before meals, even though I dislike christianity, but hey, that's their way of life isn't it ? =)
But u never had tennis before u went to the states ? so u can like start a new hobby there just like that ? Oh, and are the after school activities like takin' much time and is it a part of school ? lol I fel stupid askin' these things :D
and no, I had never even played tennis before ((but I have played badmiton)) so yea, I just started.. And I was on JV lol
Well.. it does take up some time after school... Think I got home like 2-3 hours later than normal.. but it was worth it XD and if you've got a match during school hours you wont be marked as tardy, cause it is school related XD
Oh well that actually sounds pretty good ! =P What all after school activities did you say there were ? :P others than the ones you already said lol ^^
Oh I dont remember them all to be honest.. But there was also wrestling, cheerleading and volley.. And then the ones I told you before.. those are the ones I remember.. :)
Okaaay :D well I think tennis will be pretty nice... Considering my size (I'm pretty skinny lol) wrestling won't be my thing (^_^) volleball could be nice too =) With which organisation did u go btw ? :P
Hahahaha okaaay :D that I've actually heard, my friend was in the states for about a month on a C.I.S.V.-camp and she gained like 5 kg :D Oh now I have a rly smart question ! (^_^) How did you adapt to the Mile and Ich and lbs system ? U do have Kilometers and kilogrammes in Denmark ?
HAHAHAH - now that was a really smart question, and to tell you the truth... I never did ;P lol But like I got explained what is sort of was in km//kg//cm's and such, and it is almost twice as much.. Like 1 mile is about 2 kms.. But I still dont really get ti ;P
Trust me, it really is easy! I have never had spanish before, but I got A's and I was one of the best in my class. I also got A-B's in English and U.S. History!! Ten times easier than it is at my school at least
Yeah I've only heard similiar stories, that it is easy I mean... Umm a pretty stereotypical question, and I do NOT intend to discriminate anybody in any way but are the average americans stupid and fat ? =D
It is.. like I get kinda low grades here at home... Never had as good grades as when I was there.
HAHAH - well there are some that are fat, and there are some that are stupid.. It isnt that different from the rest of the world. It is a hard question to answer to be honest..
Yeah I know :D Well I'll see for myself ! (^^,) Can't rly think of much more to ask... the host family ? yeah u told me the prayers and all and I realize that there are so many different people so I can end up in a totaly different kind of family but all in all how were they ? oh and was it like mom dad and kids or ? :P
Well you see - I didnt have a family when I had to leave, so I got a start out family, that had me till I got my permanent family, but at that family there only was a woman and her baby ((plus another exchange student)) and the woman didnt like me, so I had to find a new one, and I did and they were the best ever! So you need to watch out, cause not all of them are that great. and if it doesnt seem to work out, sit down and have a talk with them and your organization. I called my host dad papa
Yeah I've heard things like that too, shame... =/ But I'm off to the sauna now I'll B back in like 30 mins... U've been sitting by ur comp all day, haven't you ? xD
Well not really, I've bothered u enough lol (^^,) No but I don't know... I'll ask u if I can think of something. I'd also be glad to keep you posted on how my process goes, and well yeah... I'll be heading to the states next autumn OH ! There's a question, when did u go ? like in which month ? :P
