@Csp499 there are marxists and socialists that say that the collapse of the soviet union was good for the communism in the grand scheme of things as the soviet union was a bad way of going about it. A lot of the old eastern bloc used to try portray the movement as solid and monolithic but there are a lot of differing opinions, sometimes violently so, within the marxists.
@BVargas78 That's just it- it can be free and transparent *in theory*, but given enough time, it will inevitably be whittled away at. And the people will still think it's transparent and free, even after it has been hijacked, and they'd be none the wiser.
@MaoiMeowi2 Communism isn't an 'economic system'. Russia was an economic system (hence not communist), STATE capitalism ('Stalinist' - like the eastern bloc countries, china etc the state was the owner and boss. It is a system which has been growing since the first world war. It appears to be a general tendency of capitalism in decline i.e capitalism in its decadent phase. That's why the enemy class around the world has had to plough millions into their state economies. Capitalism is bankrupt.
@ButherLi55ett That's not what I meant. I meant that, whenever it's possible for people to be more equal than others, that's what will happen. That wouldn't happen under Communism.
By the way, Russia was, and still is, a country. It was a Soviet Socialist Republic from 1922-1991, but the fact remains that a division of land is NOT an economic system.
@MaoiMeowi2 When I said Russia I was referring to the USSR and 'Socialism in one country'. Of course economy (capital) is international that's exactly why you cannot have socialism in one country. Working class revolution and thus communism must be international or its not what it says on the tin. ; ) ....So what would you descibe what existed in the Soviet Union and the other 'socialist' states?
@ButherLi55ett During Stalin, I'd say Authoritarian State Capitalism. Afterward, I'd say increasingly lenient State Capitalism (although, not as lenient to some as the US is, however, most aren't truly free, either).
OK. But a division of land still isn't an economic system. It's a division of land.
@ButherLi55ett But your are talking about the end goal of communism. Communism cannot happen overnight. A communist party is a political party that will try to form government in order to try to 'build communism'. They claim they will disband once this goal is achieved. This is where part of the problem lays.
@BVargas78 No, I am not. Communists and the working class, not entirely separate things do not form governments. The exploited class can only be independent of the state in its own class organs. Workers councils or soviets, factory assemblies, community councils or whatever indepenedent class organs arise during revolutionary periods. The bourgeois state must be smashed it can only lead to counter-revolution, revert to and maintain class society. The party cannot be the state or the class.
@ButherLi55ett And of course revolution must be international, there cannot be regions of socialism countries or 'proletarian' states, 'workers states' etc. Stalinism, Trotskyism etc has done great damage to marxism and what the tasks of the international proletariat are and what it stands for.
@ButherLi55ett you'll never be able to unite all mankind under the communist banner, theres too many interests and differences. And a huge population of 6 billion human beings who will be waiting to have their needs met. Health care, pensions, housing, energy, food, clean water. Can a world of hundreds of independent worker factories provide this?
Regions will end up focusing on meeting local needs, with little incentive to produce a surplus other than altruism, is it enough?
@BVargas78 I can't possible answer all these big questions in one little comment. Very briefly, I don't want to "unite mankind under the communist banner". Only the working class to fight for their own interest and that of humanity. Communism is to meet the many interests and differences. There is lack of basic needs now, communism is based upon abundance. Planning will be international. "Incentive" changes when consciousness changes i.e through practical and revolutionary action.
@ButherLi55ett wasnt Trotsky internationalist while Stalin was in favour of a worker state 'socialism in one country'? I would have thought you would have agreed with Trotsky?
@BVargas78 I said Trotskyism - the parties, organisations, theory etc that has come after Trotsky. Trotsky himself wasn't a Trotsykist like Marx wasn't a Marxist. Trotsky did make errors tho' defending 'workers state' -which is foreign to marxism. How can there be such a thing as workers state? - Deformed, degenerated or whatever else.
We are all the working class not the nationalist cows. Be open minded and see whats going on all around the world, the nationalism promotes racism... Nationalism and religions are the tools of the capitalistic coorupt system.

I hate to cater to a political argument on a piece of music, but I'm going to make this plain since no-one seems to get it-
Capitalism gives everything to those who exploit through money.
Communism gives everything to the rulers who exploit through political power.
The only difference? Communism no longer has a representative superpower (in other words- the Soviet Union no longer exists).

Unitedworkers, you are a racist.
The assumption that the "white man" created capitalism to opress others is obviously racist.
