  • I want to see the car chase!

  • I wouldn't accept the one that was imposed at my school. They instituted a freedom square that was basically a 8 by 8 raised square where people could exercise free speech.

  • He wants to talk about freedom of speech yet Chomsky supports Speech Codes on College campuses. The same speech codes that get struck down by the courts as infringements on the 1st Amendment.

    Chomsky is a hypocritical idiot.

  • @Phalanx3800

Chomsky supports speech codes? I'm not claiming it's not a grey area, but for an activist to support speech codes is kinda counter-productive. WTF? as harsh as Chomsky is on american education; he doesn't criticize college as harshly as he could in order to maintain his intellectual defensibility. So, I can't just let it slide. That's fine; it's good to finally have an opinion of his I disagree with; good for independant thought

  • @SUpersaiyajinjerkbag He gives support for speech codes on the grounds that students also live on the campus. I say that I can agree. I wouldn't give blanket acceptance of any and all speech codes, but would accept ones that limit activities to public areas away from dorms and study coves etc.

  • corporations can be good and bad, how can we make them more good than bad?

  • @moorsalin3 For starters, we could democratize them, let them be controlled by the workforce instead of being private tyrannies...then let those corporations interact coorperatively instead of competitively....although you couldnt really call them corporations then anymore in the contemporary sense, they'd be something much better

  • Just to give you an idea of what Chomsky's talking about, imagine if the New York Times was being out-sold by the Socialist Worker.

That's the kind of media that existed in the 1800s.

  • You can't blame corporations for everything. Consumers are corporations' partners in crime.

  • What a man! I sincerely hope I get the chance to meet him while he's still around, it would mean the world to me.

  • People that cant understand Noam's speech are exactly what he's talking about ! Brain washed people that watch too much tv and have no connection to what is really going on. All I can say is to all people , is see more of Chomsky's work .

  • the Illuminati fabricated and prolonged the the vietnam war.

Noam has spent most of his life awakening the collective unconscious.

  • Chomsky thinks that America was becoming more free around world war II? Does he mean like the civil rights struggle afterwards? Because all I remember from WWII history is; Pearl harbor, Military industrial-complex, War, Draft, US concentration Camps, The Shit (red herrings for the poor ) Deal, and yeah...

  • Mid 19th century. That's the 1800's.

  • yup, we've become a consumer-based society, rather than manufacturing-based, plus Nixon/Bretton-Woods caused the buying power of the dollar to drop dramatically...plus modern civilization is addicted to oil...check out Peter Dale Scott...

  • chomsky is always fascinating, see manufacturing consent for more.
