Science has proven that listening to Strapping Young Lad whilst Deadlifting, Squatting, Rack-Pulling and Benching will actually enable you to increase the weight by 200%
@MetaIhead89 - they're good for getting used to pulling heavier weights on your deadlift, finishing the lift, and in general a good trap and back exercise
The point of a rack pull is very similar to static benching (Setting a rack up similar, but doing it for bench press.). Rack pulls are used for everything from sticking points, to working on lockouts and such. You would be surprised how many powerlifters do these ever 3rd week to make sure they're properly locking their top half.
On that note, the only thing I'd be iffy on (to the one who posted the video) is at times your reps just seemed too quick on the lock out. Great lift though!
I use regular and deficit deadlifts as the limit strength part of my leg workout. Anybody know when in my workout I should use rack deadlifts? As the limit strength exercise? Just after deficit deads?
@TheRugbyidiot just deadlift. this rack pull shit is for people who want to look like theyre strong and lifting heavy. squat, deadlift, and benchpress hard as fuck, and work in your other lifts, and its all good. this half ass shit is a joke. you would get better gains lowering this weight and doing deadlifts.
@thisonefuckingirl You sir, are a moron. Any serious gym trainer/bodybuilder will tell you that "Rack Deadlifts" are very useful in strengthening your body to get a head start on pulling bigger "Full Deadlift" weights.
It also helps you become accustomed to the heavier weights before you just jump in and try yo pull 600 off the floor.
@kinmassive checked what? my favorited videos... hardly a judge of who a person is. I'm a powerlifter and play college lacrosse.. among many other things.. Its a rack pull, its an assistance exercise. You use varying heights to load the muscle differently.. overload etc.. same reason you pull from varying size boxes etc.. train how you see fit... but don't act like you know what you're talking about
This could actually be quite beneficial for him. When i fail a lift, it's usually right above my knee cap. Doing a rack pull at that level will help get me adjusted to pulling from that level. Remember that everything you do in training has its use for you later.
great rack pulls. take a look at mine and let me know what you think. also there is a guy by the name of KingofZona that thinks the exercise is a waste of time, leave a comment to let him know what you think of his comment if u can
Dude I gotta start doing these! Nice job bro you pulled that shit up like it was a broom.

Rack pulls start BELOW the knee at minimum 19.5". Above the knee is just a partial rack, pointless for any sport really including strongman???
