I have been looking for this song's name for a while now. Great music video also. This is one song I heard in my childhood and I never found out the name of the song until now. Really funny of the security guard in the background trying really hard to disconnect the band from the tv.
one of the original lyrics for this song was "anything itchy must be chafing anything chafing must be red anything red is imbortant, anything importants already dead" but they didn't feel that it matched the real message of this song
It may just be me, but I think the bassist Jim Creeggan looks kinda like the guy from this hour has 22 minutes (Gavin Crawford, who is gay by the way, but who cares).
Alright. I'll say this once: If you don't like the music...DON"T LISTEN! Really, some of us like this. and BTW, for those who do like something that people keep flaming...fire back. actually, just the threat should do it. Why? flamers tend to be cowardly, especially when they can't back up their position, or hide behind other arguments, covering up thier cowardice. If ANYONE wishes to..discuss...my opinions, please do so via PM.
PLEASE DON'T READ THIS. You will get kissed on the nearest possible Friday by the love of your life. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. However, if you don't post this comment to at least 3 videos, you will die within 2 days. Copy and paste this, to be saved
Maybe larkydorker's mother just didn't hug him enough as I child so anything that's upbeat and not screaming at him is just dull. If that is the case, these guys are very dull. But they do make awesome music and are amazing live.
I don't listen to them. Though there are times when they are on the radio and I wonder why they haven't evolved or gotten beyond the same dull geek boy band formula of their first single.
Perhaps if you took the time to actually listen to all of their CD's, you'd see their sound has evolved incredibly from the time of the Pink and Yellow Tapes and Gordon, to now, with Barenaked Ladies are Me/Men. Methinks you just listened to "One Week" (which, incedentally, was not their first single), and wrote them off as one-hit wonders.
I read an interview with the drummer in Modern Drummer magazine not too long ago. Honestly, he had absolutely nothing of substance to say about the art and craft of drumming. He did a lousy clinic last year in Ontario. Everyone was wondering who let the comedian sit at the kit. Yawn.
Your comment here, "freewilly108" just goes to add evidence to support my question in the affirmative. You couldn't work against yourself more if you tried. If I deserve insult for correct grammar, then you live in BizzaroWorld...or Canada.
umm no your just using your grammar and words to hide the fact that you appearantly have nothing to aid your argument.. all your doing is typing out the dullest comments i have ever read.... "in the affirmative" what the fuck dude? who the hell actually says that unless they;re typing up an essay... besides your grammar isn't all that great, your first comment didnt have punctuation or start with a capitol.
So lazydorker, by using good English and big words, you feel that this justifies your argument in disliking a band? Do you feel better now? Well done.
Actually I do not have a dislike of good diction - I thought that would be quite clear considering I have used proper English in my posts. You were the person who started the discussion about the use and misuse of language and grammar in these comments, which, yes I agree, is irrelevant to the video and band. As for your comments about Barenaked Ladies - well, I'm sorry that you feel that way about them. I happen to quite like them :)
this gong brings back memories! The first time I heard this song, I had just bought this CD and I was on a flight to Chicago to see a friend in 2001, I remember listening to it and I was like, this is my song!
First BNL song I heard was Shoebox. Loved it, but One Week made me a HUGE fan!
