  • How could you have been put on an oral treatment if you were diognosed with type 1?

  • I was put on an oral treatment because initially I was misdiagnosed as having type 2 diabetes. Over the course of a few months, the treatment stopped working and I was referred to an endo that confirmed that I had type 1 diabetes. I got started with Lantus insulin shots first and eventually, shots of Novolog. A couple of years later, I started on the pump.

  • That's exactly what happened to me a year and a half ago. I was misdiagnosed as a T2, and ended up being a T1. I was diagnosed at age 34. This is becoming a common issue.

  • We just created a tudiabetes video channel, in case anyone touched by diabetes wants to subscribe to it.

  • interesting... I've never considered a pump, mainly because my diabetes has been relatively easy to handle (4-5 shots a day, HbA1c just below 6.5), but, well, I've had this only 1½ years, maybe I'll get tired of being a pin cushion ;)

  • Ive had Diabetes for well, i'm going on 3rd year this year after valtines day i'm 12 and on the insulin pump i love it changed my diabetes .

  • good stuff. my six year old boy (diagnosised at 16 months) is a pump users.

  • Thanks for posting this, and the part II.
