I'll probably order one of these very soon, since I was looking for a first watch and found this. It looks properly tough, military and very stylish at the same time. Will probably be a bit tricky to find in Sweden, ordering from non EU locations means it might get stuck in customs and then i'll have to pay VAT wich is like 25%. I will find a way though, because I want it really bad.
I have this watch and love it. The one thing I'm not fond of is the bracelet, believe it or not. It looks great but the clasp constantly pinches and pull on my skin. I ordered a red and black bond NATO strap for it tonight.
I originally bought this on the rubber strap, but after watching and reading reviews on this watch and people giving the bracelet their praises I had to pick one up. Good watch overall and It's hardly ever off my wrist. Now I just have to get me an Orange one!
@WetSocks97 I recomend it as well. I've got mine Black Monster in November 2010 because, at that time, they had the cheapest offer. Great service, no issue with them.
Other colors/versions of the Monster line(that I know of) Snow Monster, Yellow monster, Night monster, And one more, can't remember it but it has blue dial and blue/red numbers/markers on the bezel.
Snow monster has the white dial, Yellow monster of course has the yellow dial, and the night monster is black stainless steel with a variety of dial colors.
I agree completely with everything you said here, it's a hell of a good watch for under $200... as a matter of fact I challenge people to find a better built automatic watch with a good name like Seiko for under $200. The complication in this watch is up to par with many higher end watches costing much much more... to say the least I love the watch.

I was between this ( SKX 779 K1) and the SKX 007, which looks like a Rolex Submariner. Both are beautiful and well worth the money, but I pulled the trigger on the Black Monster today! Like you said,.. Maybe in a year or so! ; )

Great review, one of the best on this watch. Just an FYI Seiko calls their lume by the name of LumiBrite not Super Luminova .
