  • 4 dislikes what morons

  • @fattwat1 No doubt

  • this was an inspirational show and my first

  • gotta forever love james dewar, i know i do/wynn

  • How could anyone NOT like this??? Are you deaf or just ignorant?

  • Met Trower 4x and had the pleasure of interviewing him back in '99. I told him he had had a knack for picking wonderful drummers, having chose Reg Isidore & Bill Lordan, amongst some others. He also worked with the late BJ Wilson in Procol Harum, whom he raved about. Trower still has it, but his work here is just mesmerizing, I think. The video's fuzzy, but since I saw the drummer flipping his long hair at one point, this has to be Bill Lordan, who took over halfway through that year's tour.

  • By 75 he had cleaned up some of the songs from the first 2 albums, and that was why these concerts were some of his best ever. I saw him live in Los Angeles that year and became a life long fan!

  • Mind Blowing Jam at 5:00-6:00 ....sweeeet!

  • i am disabled music and loved ones keep me alive and robin trower is one reasons ilike this audio thankyou all

  • I was there too.... great concert.....

  • OMGGGGG................He is such a wow and superb player it drives me nuts. Hee, I've been listening to him since I was a kid....... around 1975. Seen him 7 X and love him to death. I live for 4:39. My love and appreciation for Robin....... I close my eyes and dig his playing. Owwwggghhhhhhh.

  • For such a small Country. We have given the world some of the finest Blues/Rock singers ever.Dewar,Harvey,Miller,McCafferty,Stewart,Scott and many more.Scotland ya bass.

  • @MrGordongemmell Dewar was my favorite singer in Trowers band. He did one solo album in the 1970s called; "Stumbledown Romancer which wasn't released until two decades later. I loved the timbres in Dewars soulful voice. I thought he was the most underrated blues singer ever. His approach to the bass always encompassed and enhanced every Trower song. He had a gifted subtle touch and natural tone. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland October 12, 1945. Rest in peace James!

  • Wish id been there! Cheers, Y.

  • Trower, Mozart, Trower, Mozart!! Same difference!! REAL music!

  • Best performance by these guys ever.

  • I saw Trower in Houston in '"75 or 76 (my memories of the 70's are a bit "fuzzy")) at the Sam Houston Coliseum. It was so loud (in a good way) that the whole building was vibrating. I was starting to wonder if the old coliseum was going to collapse. Thunder and lightning - Trower was incredible. Gotta agree - the 70's were an awesome time to be young and wild - I saw so many amazing concerts.

  • I LOVE TROWER ....!!!

  • All I know is that I'm SO glad that I grew up during this time. Man, what a time in history.

  • I wish I could have been there!

  • 100% enjoying music!

  • Trower: The only person alive who could bend a note around a fencepost. have his 60th birthday concert on DVD and he rocked his heart out then as well.

  • Our True Military In Spirit! Robin Trower! Rock n Roll!

  • I seen RT at "Wings Stadium" Kalamazoo in 1974 and 1975 and I think 77 In City Dreams tour...Styx was the warm up band....RT is my guitar hero.....he played with such feeling...you could see it in his face....it was great to have been a teenager in the 70s.

  • @Nordland796 I was at one of those shows! We used to drive down from Grand Rapids to "Wings" all the time.

I graduated in 1974 & got to see/live thru all the great bands. We knew at the time how special it was too. Those WERE the days, my friend! No internet then - we had to watch Robin to catch all the tricks so we could run home & grab our guitars & try 'em. I miss those days. And gas was cheap - I remember 25cents/gal

  • @BugaLooser Yeah...I live in Jackson county close to I-94 back in the day I seen most of the big bands of that time in Kazoo or the Big "D"......yep.....the music takes me back to those care free times.

  • I saw Trower in the 70's.

It was outdoors, in Phoenix, AZ, I believe Johnny Winters also played, another story!

Anyway...his sound just sizzeled, over and through your head in waves of pure music signal, diretly hooked to your brain...(this was outside at a large venue) Played Bridge of sighs...ect...was electrifying. I had seen a lot of (great) ones by then, but he was among the best.

  • omg! killer!

  • It still amazes me why songs like this one, "Lady Love", and "Bridge of Sighs" are not more widely celebrated in the rock world. This magical, moody, otherworldly song is just as powerful as a lot of Hendrix's songs, but never got all the attention. Also, like many others have commented, Dewar never got the rec as a vocalist that he deserved either.

  • @pocogirl i totally agree...loved it on my 8-track, then I saw him in phoenix in the 70's outdoors...and....it ....was... was electrifying!

  • James Dewar what a voice.

    Robin looks so young here.

Great team & Trower is the king of tone.

  • Certainly possible.....sounds like you know your stuff. I was probably a little altered at the time.....and frankly, I have trouble remembering yesterday. Anyway, I DID see the same three guys doing the same material at Winterland....it does not seem like it was '76....but like I said......I smoked those brain cells.

  • I was in the front row....right in front of Robin.....could hardly hear Dewar over Robin's Marshall's from there but WOW, what a show. Tommy Bolin opened, followd by Steve Marriott's all stars. My friends who had seen him the time before this tour said he was even better the first time....hard to imagine....but then, Reggie was still on drums then. I sure miss Winterland!!!!

  • @jdiehl1959 - The other acts in this show were Journey and Pablo Cruise. The concert you are referring to was one of four shows, from 5th to 8th May 1976.

  • @StephenRedrobe My first official rock concert at 16: Pablo Cruise, Journey, Trower. Mind blowing and highly influential. I've been playing ever since.

  • @StephenRedrobe I think you are right. It's hard to remember or keep it straight....I can hardly remember yesterday! Thanks for the clarification.....glad someone remembers, and really happy that this is available.

  • @jdiehl1959 When BG had to close the Fillmore he bounced shows between Winterland and the Cow Palace. Also in the summer the Days On The Green at Oakland stadium...... Besides RT wasn't Tommy Bolin so great!!!!

  • @jdiehl1959 Im JEALOUS~ I wasn't even born yet....I LOVE THESE GUYS~~ xo

  • @JennSDMF1979 Well, I apparently was not at this exact show ( read above ) ....but I swear the one I saw was ( notice how 'saw' and 'was' look side by side....ok, I'm a stoner) just as amazing........I think. I loved these guys then, and still do.....beautiful.....and Robin just keeps getting better!!!!!

  • @jdiehl1959 man you saw bolin and trower wow bolin is my all time favorite and was coming to mobile ,al but we know what happened.

  • @labtide Actually, and most unfortunately, Tommy was either not well...not into it....or pissed off about something, as he barely played, he let his sax player do most of the work...( if I can recall correctly )....disappointing to say the least. But, yes...he was GREAT......usually.

  • @jdiehl1959 Wow , wouldve loved to have seen that show !

  • i wish that someone had the wisdom to film this performance with professional equipment,i envy those who saw it live,

  • @thefunkyphantom69 That was professional equipment of that time. Tape gets old and wears away. There is a lot of stuff that will be, or has already been lost that wasn't converted to a digital format.

  • I am spellbound. Never tire of hearing this song !

  • This music gives me chills, they don't do nothing like this anymore!

  • how awesome is that! Trower and Dewar

  • A truly over looked MASTER.

  • This is the song we were listening to when my future wife and I professed our love for each other. 33 years later and we are still spellbound!!

  • one of my favorite songs by one of my all time favorite artists, he's been an inspiration to me on the guitar since back in those days,, plays with alot of soul !! not as flashy as some of todays players but certainly one of the best of all time !!

  • This was at Winter Land, It was my first of many concerts 14yr old, Bad ass nothing like it !!! The Good Ol days.

  • Whoa. This is so hot.

  • yep the man is Jimi Hendrix.....Dewar, isidore, Trower and lordan were all huge fans

Rob co-wrote 'song for a dreamer' whilst still with Procal harum and this was also about Hendrix.

  • Oh the goodness of fuzz.........

  • Dewar, what soulful vocalist he was!

  • dedicate it to the 'man'.....JIMI HENDRIX..no doubt..

  • Magic song; as a kid, I used to think of this song while out in the lineup waiting for the next set of waves, basking in the sunshine. Now, 35 years later, I'm looking up at the aroura borealis and digging the same tune. Thanks Robin !

  • holy fucking shit.

  • guitar genius!!!!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this great music.

  • nice 2 see these old videos back here again. thanks

  • No smokeables needed..... Just turn it up !!
