no way. the pixies wrote a couple dozen awesome songs and then ruined them by actually playing/recording them. virtually every cover of a pixies song is better than the original. not uncommon in music.

i know how to listen for myself and not rely on others' opinions. the pixies' music sounds like they recorded it in a broom closet. also, the guy cant sing for crap. they were the champions of minimalist, messy noise rock which has its place, admittedly, but the shame is they really wrote good, creative music and just played it messy. minimalist works great to cover up a lack of skill/talent (the majority of punk falls into this category and somehow it works) but they ruined their own music.

@lhs04 the pixies had their place in playing dirty-ass creative music. it was their style. some producers they worked with destroyed everything they brought to the table, others brought the best out of them. regardless of any of that, this is one of my favorite covers of all time. it's everything a cover should be: the original song with a distinct feel

Thank you for adding this! The Siren Six! are, by far, the finest third wave Ska band I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. They can do no wrong in my book.
