No you don't. it only uses data if you enable A-gps!

I have an N95 8G and I have to say that having used garmin ($99), nokia maps (free) and google earth mobile (free) I cant see why anyone would pay for garmin (i got it free). There is little difference as long as you have your maps updated, Ive used nokia maps "walking" mode with headphones in and it takes you exactley where you want to go in any city youre unfamiliar with. Driving is very accurate too with nokia maps as it detects if your moving in traffic as slow as 5mph!

Very true, however if i want navigation on my Nokia Maps it requires a subscription. I also enjoy the add-ons garmin has like POIs, vehicles, speedtraps, tollgates etc and not to mention its ease of use.

I got it free because of my job but I only got 1 licence and its still on my phone. As for how to install apps, once you have installed nokia pc suite from the disc that comes with the phone and your pc finds the phone when its attached via bluetooth or usb you simply double click the file on your pc and it installs itself, you just have to click "ok" and "continue" on the handset and thats it!

i have this software on my n81 2gb...and i have a bluetooth gps reciver. but i have a problem: it works fine on short distances (about 20-30 km) but if i give him to calculate me the route to somewhere more then 60 km it remains locked on 3/4 on calcualting route, and i have to exit the app to unlock it. can you tell me what to do??

Either phones ram is locked at 100% capacity or its a buggy install(check garmins site to see if the version of the software your using is FULLY compatable with N81).

I agree that Garmin Mobile is the best..... if I can get it to work. Say, are you using a bluetooth GPS or the built-in GPS for the N95? I'm having trouble getting connected. Would you be able to help? Every time I start up Garmin, it goes into search mode. After a few seconds, it stops and I get an error message saying "No GPS found"?! It seems that Garmin was setup to use a Bluetooth GPS. Do you know how to change it from bluetooth to inbuilt GPS? Thanks.

Inbuilt. Download Garmin xt keygen. get ur card id from garmin-settings-about. generate key, save as sw.unl in garmin folder. Then go to settings-system-remote gps, u enable inbuilt.(pm4help) goodluck

Its always better to purchase the product...

The only data charges are for Assisted GPS, otherwise the maps are loaded onto the phone and are not downloaded on the fly.
