Ati is cheap, using some of the older tech in their gpu´s and trying to release the cards as fast as possible, when nvidia is making good quality graphics cards and drivers, so basicly, ati is more unstable than nvidia.

vitz47 this is for you. the reason there is little difference between 2&3-way SLI is cause the motherboard has 4 PCIe2.0x16 slot but they dan't all run at x16 speeds.on this intel skulltrail they run x16,x16,x4,x4. so only the first to GTX 280's are running at full speed. This guy might have gotten more frames per second if he would have used the third card to just run PhisX.

But it fails at FC2. And UT3 has better graphics.

I have 250 gtx (1 gb) and it runs FC2 damn well without any lag at ultra high settins.I also have 3.0 ghz 8400 dual core processor.You dont need that much power to run games that what you represent there , my brother has my old comp with 2400hd pro 256 mb ddr2 and it runs even some of the 2009 games very well.Even Far Cry 2 was working fine at medium settings , but i think he used DX9 not DX10 settings.

I would take a EVGA $200 Nvidia GTX 260 over a Saphire $200 ATI 4870 but they are both good and perform about the same.

I'm soo confused... I have an ATi HIS 4850 IceQ TurboX right now and will be buying a new computer. I will putting in this graphics card into the computer as well. If I wont I can buy another 4850 or maybe a 4850 x2 and put this in but this will cost an extra $300 (AUD) or I can buy Nvidia graphics cards with a costs $1380 if I buy another ATi I will have to pay $1580

Newsflash dumbfuck: The 4870X2 and the GTX 295 are both 55nm cards. 45nm cards will be released in a year or two. Not to mention, the different versions of the 4870X2 don't differ much. The best one is probably the R700 from Palit or the Asus one with the tri-fan cooler.
