I am really wanting to start investing/collecting silver but I dont know what to buy!!! Coins like the Eagles, Maples, etc.. or silver rounds from scottsdale, etc??? What do you think?
@boipinoi604 Profits aren't made until the value is realized. The value of this silver is in terms of USD, and the value of the USD has gone down.. so the profit isn't as big as people think it is, plus it hasn't been realized. If he tried to liquidate and realize those "profits" he'd lose even more, because he'd be selling below spot, and have to find a buyer which may mean shipping or splitting. It's a fools' "fortune."
@silvermediastudio I bought with cdn, not sure how much MY dollar has been devalued, but the value of my silver is worth more than the cdn dollars I have paid for.
@boipinoi604 Since 2008, the CDN exchange rate has depreciated about 10% compared to the USD, and is now worth about $0.98USD.
So considering that.. .has the value of your Ag gone up, or has the value of the currency you bought it with gone down? That it's worth "more" CDN isn't saying anything if the value of CDN has gone down. This is the flawed logic of the vast majority of OTC precious metals "investors."
@boipinoi604 As an analogy, you could have bought windshield wipers for 1995 Honda Civics. If the value of the currency you bought them for went down, then the market price (spot) for those wipers would likely go up.. it doesn't mean they've appreciated or that you've made money with your investment.
@boipinoi604 If you bought at a decent long-term price, then sure it's fine for diversifying your assets, but what happens if the dollar is fine and the price drops? Or there's a gold rush in Africa and the value drops? Or the dollar drops, but nobody wants nor can afford to buy your gold/silver? It's just not very liquid, and most people ignore this, thinking they'll be able to "barter" with it in some way when the "time" comes. It's false belief.
@boipinoi604 Depends on the market. I progressively bought 700oz of Ag in 2008 and 2009. Sold the majority of it progressively through 2010, and realized my profits. I hold some, but not much, rather I invested the cash I pulled out into real estate renovations, which has returned about 12-18% over the last two years for me. The only Au I have is that which I inherited, mostly coins that have more numismatic value than melt value.
A prime choice for silver bullion coins with extra collector value! The Third Reich produced millions of 90% silver coins. Each Nazi 5 Reichsmark coin weighed 13.88 g and contained exactly 12.5 g of fine silver. Almost half an ounze of silver in each coin. These coins are still readily available today! And besides their inherant value as silver bullion, they are also genuine Third Reich collectables thus adding to their value!
Which of you for all his worrying can add one day to his life, one inch to his stature, So don't concern yourself so much with the means of life, What you shall eat and drink or with your bodies and how they should be clothed. Life is more than clothing. Consider the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or gather into bands, But our Heavenly Father feeds them. Will He not all the more feed you, Are you not worth more than they?
You better get those tested, if you are buying in person ask the dealer to drill the bar and if you see black fillings come up after a while then it has been tampered with.
Oh no, just passing through and noticed your lame comment and then of the number of people that think you're a waste of space.
I stink of failure? Like everyone else viewing this page I have something constructive to say...unlike you. You must be jealous. Or an idiot. But I'll leave your fate to the gods. You take care now, douche bag, and have a great weekend. :)

@silvermediastudio Interesting, but that's reason I have obtain silver, to protect myself from devaluation of currency.

@silvermediastudio Yes, I see what you're saying. One of the reason I have bought silver is to hedge myself from inflation.

@silvermediastudio I mean it's not a wealth producing asset per se but rather a store of wealth. imho. Anyways, what do you think of gold?

gmluv9 2 years ago 2
sorry to say.. but some of your coins are fake... look up you US dollers..and if you pay lots of money for a tham get your money back
FormatVideos 2 years ago
are you sure? as far as i know, there are no fake eagles. it's difficult to fake coins. bars are easier.
find out the true thickness and diameter of the coin and measure the weight.
also check if your "silver" attract magnet or not. pure silver/gold does NOT attract magnet.
