@southparkporsche Then just trim off the jagged edge. This is not the final cut. When you cut to the pattern, it's narrower. So trimming the jagged edge does not have to be an exact cut.
@southparkporsche it said use it as a guide, and that you could experiment with it later, therfor there is no exact measurement . i hope i answered your question a year later.
thank god i found it this im amking a daft punk helmet and i need the bottom of the cans for the ears and ive been cuting the can wid a knife and it gave a real shark jaged edges but how did i not thing of this in the first plaace lol

I have hear that if it's one of those new steel beverage cans without ridges, it will work. However, it is harder bend.
