  • They also put a Metallica song and Alice in Chains in the game. So many great metal tracks that you won't even be aware of unless you actually listen to this kind of stuff =P

  • Amazing, amazing music. It fits so well when you pull out the little arsenal you have, to find yourself in a dark, big room with small lights at the corners. Traps everywhere, Revenants waiting for you.

  • DOOM it's real fucking rock & classic game ever !!

  • At 0:10 I start thinking of the Atlantic Ocean. o_o

  • better than pantera

  • This is my favorite song !

  • this tune makes me feelsooo uneasy i fuckin love this game

  • "!!!OREMOR NHOJ EM LLIK TSUM UOY EMAG EHT NIW OT"

  • Pantera - this love

  • the song is called: This Doom :D

  • My fav. song in DooM II

  • doom 2 has some fantastic bgms even though they are midis

  • Oh Shit! Library traps :D

  • @saintrene1 hahah true... man doom music can bring back memories

  • "OREMOR NHOJ, EM LLIK TSUM UOY EMAG EHT NIW OT"

  • 2 people died in the library trap's

  • @RaizPodre I think the warp room's trap was much worse, even if there were less enemies (and no arch-vile).

  • @kevjumba what the fuck, you do not like doom? Were you one of those people who pressed the hated dislike button

  • @corvette2446 you also mention to him. if it wasn't for games like doom in the early 90's there would be not first person shooters like we have, so the kid can take his cod and battlefield and shove it up his ass lol

  • @shaftyfingers ya, i agree @kevjumba is a bastard

  • Th1S L0V3

  • This music fit the Monster Condo level so perfectly. Most of the level was dark, with pools of flickering light here and there. The monsters were often hidden behind false walls and platforms, so when you first hit the level, there were no monsters to be seen. Just darkness, flickering lights, and this music. Awesome.

  • This song is called "This Doom"

    :D

  • no more head trip!

  • @Suiton1 Just pointing out a spelling mistake down there!

I believe it's monster congo, not monster condo

  • yap, nice soundtrack... yup yup..

  • vulgar display of doom

  • @ksioamaral89 hahah

  • @H4RM0N1C5 hehe!

  • This song has an evil and mysterious feel. I like this one.

  • When I listen to this song, I imagine cacodemons and pain elementals, slowly flying through dark blue sky, covered with storm clouds

  • @bubugaeify "pain elementals"?

  • @SimonFallheart Yes, "pain elementals". What's wrong with them?

  • jajajaja PANTERA YEEAH

  • Great, but this is NOT how it sounds on the ORIGINAL, FIRST RELEASE DOOM2!! :) (only doom maniacs identify with this!!!!)

  • @aktuber101 This is the original, it's just without the music code from the game, it's the original recording.

  • GUYS can u stop saying the pantera thing? we already know it

  • This music for me is great for that cold, rainy days, when you're at home, an off-work day, your house is nicely warm, you can sit on your chair while serving youself with a good cup of hot chocolate while looking through the window and watch placidly the snow/rain falling outside...

  • @VileV right on. There's creeping dread in there, but it's also peaceful.

  • This Love by Pantera but different

  • here's the original

    /watch?v=ZQEW6-IQ79I

  • This song is so relaxing, it is lulling me when I'm getting insomniac.

  • numb john romero! what made him stop making doom games? oh well! doom people are on to better thing snow

  • PANTERAAAAAAAAA

  • If ever words were spoken Painful and untrue I said I loved but I lied In my life All I wanted Was the keeping Of someone like you As it turns out Deeper within me Love was twisted and pointed at you ... ATWA!!!!! What? Sounds nothing like ATWA!
  • @CannonOmega True, the melody is nothing alike, but the feeling remains the same.

  • If ever words were spoken

    Painful and untrue

    I said I loved but I lied

    In my life

    All I wanted

    Was the keeping

    Of someone like you

    As it turns out

    Deeper within me

Love was twisted and pointed at you

  • It makes me feel like the beginning of the song "ATWA" from System Of A Down... The same feeling... Air... Trees... Water... Animals... Aaaaaaaaaaaatwaaaaaaaaaaaaa... (¤_¤)

  • @r4shka That's funny because it makes me feel like Pantera.

Since it IS based on Pantera.

Not anything close to ATWA at all.

  • @GowbotFTW You're absolutely right, but the feeling of ATWA, the melancholic emergency alarm of Apocalypse, is the same.

  • Guess Romero really got pissed off when he had to kill himself on the final level...

  • Comment removed

  • thats obviously another song lol....

  • This is the most mind-blowing surreal sense of any DOOM map/music combination. I dunno what it was, maybe it's because I was little when I first played it, but the atmosphere... is just incredible. I preferred it when I didn't know this track was based on anything.

The map itself, man. The wide-open, yet secluded, dark, pseudo-indoor atmosphere with the winding bookshelves and reading rooms... so surreal. I feel like I need to play it right now.

  • @iamericwhite Yeah, I agree, this level is the one that gave me the most disturbing sensation whenever I played it. Pure horror, a masterwork.

  • The level Monster Condo had this erudite music and lots of bookshelves. I wanted to sit down and read something, but then all these illiterate assholes turned off my reading lights and I got pissed.

  • John Romero and John Carmak thumbs this video down for illegal hosting.

  • "TO WIN THE GAME YOU MUST KILL ME,JOHN ROMERO!"

  • the soundtrack of the level with the "time machine" !!

  • All the Doom songs are edited covers, but great songs !

  • I swear u just Midi'd 'This Love'

  • @MileSnesKnight

    id did this not him

  • 2 people didnt get in line to wait for romero to play

  • This soundtrack is gloomy and sentimental in one tune.

  • Monster Condom :D

  • @PeppaPraseCZ

when your about to get shanked from behind =p

  • @PeppaPraseCZ sooooo mature XD

  • @PeppaPraseCZ i always said that dont steal my saying you faggot

  • @DancingMedicineMan yeah but i said it here and i dont even care, go fuck yourself. Why didnt YOU write it here when its yours?

  • Pantera

  • monster condo...that level always scares me, perfect song fitting the atmosphere :)

  • FUCK YESSSSS!! Pantera kicks ass even in 16 bit form

  • You'd be playing Doom and Doom 2 and you'd be like "This sounds famillar"

  • @ZTommyRockZ NO!!! Doom 64 sounds liike this!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • " YOU KEEP THIS LOVE.." xO

  • To me, monster condo is a pain in the ass, no matter what difficulty

  • @Bulbasaurdude tell me about it

  • HELL YES!! Monster Condo, I logged in a few hundred hours playing that map Deathmatch with my friends waaay back when, serial cables and all, haha!

  • 2 people disliked this video.. FUCK...

  • @JohnisBMW TAKE IN HAND HEAVY BFG9000 WEAPON AND ELIMINATE THEM AS ONE SHOT!

  • Ah, Monster Condo... i'll never forget the scary libaries. And how that damn Arachnothron abushed me at the start at the level..

    Long live Doom.

  • seriusly this sounds way better in original standart sound

  • Monster Condo, thats my name XD

  • on facebook im friends with john romero

  • @mglassmeyer1 Lucky!

  • Sounds like pantera

  • This song + the eerie calmth of the beginning of monster condo = scary.

  • It's a "mature" game, it's funny that I actually started it before going to school, lol.

  • @SinanDira some people think that if you play a game killing some cute monsters and walktrough demonic ambientation you will become a serial killer

  • @bowm0 It should by all rights be the opposite.:D

  • @bowm0 Hell yeah, they had been retarded. The Doom game is good for your health :-) Also the doom's walkthroughts are good brain trainer, because sometimes it's was just too hard to find any way to get out from the level or just find a key (like in map19, I take about a week to find this shitty key in castle! Those times I don't know that's need only 2 keys to get escaped, lol :P )

  • I hate this level (monster condo) but I love the music. It matches the level perfectly.

  • MONSTER CONDO!!!

  • @bowm0 God damn that level.

  • is this being played through an awe32 card? it's sounds really damned good.

  • geat minimalist approach

  • The first music was taken from "Pantera - This Love" or what!

  • @f0u the dudes that made this game had to of been metal heads... lol

  • @f0u everyone knows what bobby price was doing :)

  • Comment removed

  • Try to play MAP27: Monster Condo on 1on1.

  • Yes..there will...Bethesda Studios is helping id i think.

  • Of course not, they're just like publishing it, so it's financial help really. Not like "Fallout: Hell invasion".

  • I hope this song will be used in next game DOOM 4.

  • sampled from "This love" By pantera, that little riff is un mistakable

  • scariest doom music. Very nice!!

  • YOU KEEP THIS.......

  • @HammettJR1992 LOVE (FIST) LOVE(SCAR) LOVE (BREAK)

  • sounds intense like going into a spooky city

  • Dammmnn nice.. :P

  • Wow tihs is a little cover of Pantera-This love, DooM is Awesome!!! Moster Condo!!!!!!

  • the second verse of this song makes me think of freddy kruger for some reason

  • YOU KEEP THIS......

  • LOVE (thing)

    LOVE (child)

    LOVE (toy)

    You keep this

    LOVE (fist)

    LOVE (scar)

    LOVE (break)

  • listen to this love and this at the same time.. it sounds pretty good :S

  • Bobby Prince's quote is sad at the end. Why did you have to leave John? :'(

  • Does anyone know what John Romero is doing right now? I know after he left ID, he went and made his own company or something, but does anyone know what happened to him? Great song btw. I wish I was there to see Romero play, especially before there was sound effects, it sounds kinda funny how he made his own sound effects. Lol. Don't stop playing, Romero!

  • if you go to johns site theres a video of id before doom and there was a scene with john playing doom and everyone was watching

  • Hes doing a online mmo rpg 'top secret'

  • Well, you can always ask him play the game for you, but I think he won´t unless paid a lot. I´d like to see that too...

  • That's not how it works. I think Romero would love to play for free.

  • maybe, but no one knows until someone asks

  • I'm adding doom 2 music to my playlist called DOOM II songs.

  • I remember this particular level on

a 90's night as a kid. Ominous, Dark, creepy,

    eerie music. Masterpeice.

  • lol gothitula was my word for excessive posting comments

  • If anyone finds John Romero, tell him that I'm waiting for him to play!

  • if you guys search PANTERA THIS LOVE on youtube you'll see the actual version!!

  • I know cool video with answers. watch?v=-IXNpPhfk1s . But mistake in that video. e1m4 not Pantera.

  • Pantera - This Love

  • yeah sorry :P

  • Hehe, its kinda cool by Id to use various old and cool metal songs like Pantera and Metallica! Thanks for sharing!

  • this music is so mysterious and in the some time makes you feel that the evil surrounds you...you are armed only with the barrel shotgun and you face the legion of demons....

    really awesome

  • Walk by pantera ;):L

  • this love by pantera, actually

  • whoops my bad xD

  • this is really dramatically and EPIC but still one of my favorites

  • Man i had a dream one time that i woke up and in our backyard, there was a HUGE cyberdemon. i was scared as crap, having nothing to but hide in the closet. then i woke up sweating

  • dude! gotta stop playing right before you go to bed! i learned my lesson the hard way too!

  • Nothing tops the OPL-Version.

  • We can also hear this music in Plutonia and TNT.

  • this music is pantera-this love

  • this track is from monster condo AND the courtyard. a very good soundtrack

  • i imagine a very dark town, with no people....just me and a flashlight, investigating what the hell happened

  • no, that was a movie named "phantoms 1998"

  • The best Doom song ever

  • My favorite music of Doom 2 and probably the entire Doom why the ID software never put music for each map in Final Doom??? That's weird!!!!!!

  • Because the levels weren't by iD Software. Evilution was made my Team TNT and was originally going to just be a free custom map pack until iD told them they should have their map pack be part of final DooM and make money. And Plutonia was made by some other guys who were really popular in the Doom mapping community.

  • This song is a bit like being shown around a museum, being shown all the strange exhibits, when you suddenly realise it's all a bit TOO strange...

  • yeah I had that feeling too... for now it's connected with Monster Condo level but if I didn't play Doom and heard this, I would imagine dark victorian era libraries, museums and such

  • It's said that the inspiration for this song was to create a song with a very pensive sound to it. It kind of makes you think. Like if hell, or any equivalent nightmare realm had a lobby where you would wait, it would sound like this, lol.

  • I love this tune.

  • also from the level' the courtyard'

  • you take this love! pantera. from the level monster condo!

  • Sigh... I miss the days when pixelated graphics could bring a bout a sense of terror, revulsion, mystery and wonder all at the same time.

I feel like everything is so "been there done that". How can I get that magical feeling back?

  • Simply play some wads like Hell Revealed and Scythe. Whilst there is alot of 'slaughter a room full of monsters' in these wads, there is also often 'imp teleports behind you, you turn round...ARGH!!!' moments. :)

  • An interesting take on Pantera's This Love. That song was great, but this song has a more.. smooth vibe to it, while Pantera's projects more spite and energy.

Ironically, whenever I listen to this song, I can't help but envision the dead corpse of someone deeply despised, hung with a rope by their neck, their legs missing, twitching in the cryptic caverns.

Not unlike Doom's old school graphics.. <3

  • I never thought of this as a scary song even when i was young. It always reminded me of libraries and old victorian houses with thier books and fancy woodwork.

  • ironically, that shit scares me lol

  • Pissed my pants hearing the music of Doom alone.

  • ... wimp.

  • Hell yeah!

  • Lol this is the game that turned me into an atheist

  • personally i wanna thank doom for getting me into gaming, but on top of that, id like to thank pantera for providing us with these kick ass tracks that made this game possible

cuz i dont see DOOM running on techno music, that would totally drain the adrenaline rush out of the game (aside from killing monsters everytime)

  • I love this song,it's so creepy

  • YOU TAKE THIS LOVE!

  • FISSST!

  • "Come on Romero! Join the game already and grab this plasma gun, I already have one and you'll need it more then me!"

  • this love from pantera!!!!

  • HAVE THIS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU

you are unprepared in doom and you turn around and see them lol and get scared

    daaam this song is creepy.
