I actually wish they'd come out with a device mainly for browsing on e-ink. This, however, seems to expensive, and its available only in Europe (?)..
i really, really, really want a reader for all my PDFs. My only concern is the speed. If I saw that it was easy to jump from page to page, I would drop the $400 in a second. But I'm a little hesitant to drop that kind of dough and then have it be clunky. What do you owners think? Is the speed something you just get used to? Are there any chance of speed improvements in firmware updates?
Actually, I prefer backlit screens for reading and editing - not everyone gets eyestrain from it. I get eyestrain from the e-ink screens, though.
My ideal e-reader is one where I can switch from e-ink to backlit, be able to put my own documents in it, and to be able to add pages and handwrite notes, highlight, and even print from, with long battery life and a larger than 7 inch screen.
@Charbax : this is an eInk -(pearl)-screen, no backlite, you read like on paper, it is excellent and only for reading, the reflexion are coming from the touch-unit, maybe I'll get one with no touch, the M91S,
379 euros for a plastic (ipad 1 is only 389 euros with aluminium body , multitouch glass , 1 GHZ processor, ATI graphic accelerator, 16 Go SSD ,camera , IOS upgradable, app store

"Can you export the annotations?"
"No"
FAIL. Dealbreaker for me.. how utterly pointless.

@LooneyMary
Charbax is aware of that. He/She was referring to the iPad being backlit.
