i like the paintings and the loose line quality of the drawings. the commentary is a lil ostentatious though (and i'm not sure that's necessarily a bad thing for self promotion). you remind me of the guy from paranormal state.
WoW! Beautiful and provoking work! You know, it isn't "molecular biology research." It's far greater. It's a person confronting their own existence. This level of authenticity is rare and no wonder those who are too-cool-for-school find it embarrassing {By the way, the part of you that finds this video embarrassing is the very part of you that you detest in this video. Your ego}it's challenging our biggest fears! Our purpose in life, our need for approval and what it means to follow your heart.x
I'm delighted that my video has caused such a heated discussion! Whatever your opinion, I am very grateful that you have taken the time to watch the video in its entirety and then write thoughtful comments. I wish you all a wonderful day!
Actually, I know what xdf5h does, and it's stellar work compared to the ego-blabbing "painter" that posted this video. The difference between XD and Michael, is that he keeps his ego in check, does not post embarrassing videos of himself chatting about his work, thinking that youtube is a great spot to do some self promo. Quality of your work is. Galleries are. Your own website is... but youtube? Let's not leave it to Michael to heightened the level of discussion about art on youtube. Please...
xdf5h: What are you talking about?!! His passion is inspiring and he makes beautiful paintings! Are you blind? You're clearly jealous because he's living his dream and have some success while he's at it. The world could use more people like markowski and less people like you: nose-pickers on the sidelines jeerin' them.
What a f*king moron. He represents everything that's wrong with art. The lack of technical skill, clear thinking, mystifying the artistic process, & the pandering of the art community, all conspire to give these monkeys their 15 mins. But he won't change the world if his work has no intrinsic value, which it clearly doesn't. I suggest painting lessons. He can start with 1-min. flower paintings, and work his way up to Bob Ross & the squirrels. He'll still make lots of money, people love that s*t.
The process is interesting, and I'm sure the roof paintings were a challenge to make without an after taste of oil paint. The end result, however, is far from changing the world or is as important as molecular biology research. That's where your ego gets pulled over and gets slapped with a speeding ticket.
Beside colours arranged in a not so visually pleasing way (although there's improvement near the end), the artworks does not engage reflexion/critical thinking about our built-for-cars world
