This was the era from back in the day, I saw this when I was in pre school. I miss the 90s, I want the 90s to make a come back, today's TV is not good.
@UrkManRocks Like I said before, they could bring it back, but it won't make a damn bit of difference to me. The '90s, original TGIF can NEVER be duplicated..if you think Disney cartoons like gay ass Phineas and Ferb, (which is supposed to be on the lineup) are going to replace Family Matters, Hanging with Mr. Cooper, etc, you're insane..
ABC has gotten so crummy with their changes over the years, I eventually stopped watching it and stayed closer and closer to CBS. It's sad and disappointing to know that ABC had stopped doing TGIF in recent years and now it's just DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA!!!
@jarvisbrodiea9 With Modern Family, The Middle, Happy Endings, and Last Man Standing ABC is changing and adding way more diversity than the other networks. Trust me, I know the upcoming pilots that they're picking up. No more of the shitty dramas. Those will remain on NBC and CBS. If Last Man Standing pans out TGIF will return. I trust that Tim Allen will grab viewers. The ABC president wants to bring TGIF back so that's a good thing
Me at 20: (changes channel to ESPN's College Football Primetime, NBA Friday, or Baseball Tonight) "Well, two hours to go before a JKL rerun from last week!"
9:30 for Phineas & Ferb, a show with mass kid appeal? I would say..leave any cartoons off the lineup, move Melissa & Joey to 9/8c, Last Man Standing to 9:30/8:30 and insert the new Disney comedy "Jessie" at 8:30/7:30, following 'Charlie', which can lead off the night.
From what I heard, ABC really wants to bring TGIF back for the 2012-13 Season next fall but @osaji922 has a point. Here what I think the block will be, with Family-friendly Sitcoms from Disney Channel.
YES! My childhood just flashed back. I remember quite a few shows from the TGIF block, like Dinosaurs, and Perfect Strangers, and Boy Meets World. Then after than it was 20/20 and just chillin' out for the rest of the night. Though...once TGIF started going downhill, I just chilled with the radio on the oldies station.
I used to look forward to watching TGIF every Friday. I couldnt wait till school ended. This shit was so exciting. Especially during cold winters. All the children would be tuned into TGIF until 10:00. When 10:00 came i would watch 20/20 with my mother.

That was always the sign to go to bed because 20/20 was boring when I was a child. 20/20 came on after TGIF in Maryland.

WHY DID THEY END TGIF?!?! That was the highlight to living with no cable.
DarthYoungling 1 year ago 3
That frame after the close is not the 20/20 intro. It is the open to an ABC News Brief. 20/20 would follow after a commercial break.
