Mavis was the epitome of soul!!!!! Her grunts and moans were just! Whitney who? Singers back then were distinct and worked what they had. Patti, Gladys, Aretha etc... secularly anyway. Gospel has always been distinctive and created those types of singers. Which is were the aforementioned singers came from.

I have and they are great. As well as D`Angelo, Maxwell and others. It`s just if it`s not auto-tune or being raunchy it doesn`t get the exposure it deserves. The charts used to be dominated by talent that was original. I avoid the radio when it comes to current music. Thank goodness for You Tube and Media Player,etc.
