It's not the genki series, genki is waaaaay easier, this is a book called "an introduction to intermediate japanese" by nobuko mizutani. It's hard, if you're beginner you'll not use this book because you should know the basic grammar before starting with this book.
In genki series, there aren't bilingual texts, just vocabulary lists and texts in japanese and some activities in japanese.
You don't have to remember, I can assure you that after reading 40 times, your brain is already drilled and you'll know the text by hart without memorizing !
