considering ive been a defensmen playing hockey since im 7 yrs old i have a simple understanding of this, it is never your goaltenders fault, ever. that is one of the simplest unwritten rules in hockey. the other is always defend your gaoltender now matter what.

@NTlaxer3 The goalie has to do his job. As a goalie I was always taught not to trust your D and to expect him to mess up the play aka be ready for EVERYTHING. Your D is there to mess you up so you have to be ready to stand on your head every night. No the goalie isnt at fault for every goal but if its a bad goal the goalie deserves to be criticized.
@NTlaxer3 I disagree. The defense is there to prevent breakaways and 2 on 1's. The goalie is there to keep the puck out of the net. I get annoyed when the goalie on my hockey team bitches to the defenseman.

God all of you people bitching about Brodeur sucking during the olympics obviously didnt watch the game. He allowed 2 goals during that entire match, I was rooting for Team USA and even I realized that. @77HeIix Another thing if jagr comes back to pittsburgh just look out with jagr skating with crosby and malkin, the art ross will be locked by all star break for sid. jagr needs to come back where it all started to the best sports city in the world and where champions are. I haven't seen a single video or article of Crosby scoring on his own net in the Olympics. I didn't see the entire game when the US beat Canada, but I don't recall hearing about Crosby scoring on his own net at all.

@NTlaxer3 The goalie has to do his job. As a goalie I was always taught not to trust your D and to expect him to mess up the play aka be ready for EVERYTHING. Your D is there to mess you up so you have to be ready to stand on your head every night. No the goalie isnt at fault for every goal but if its a bad goal the goalie deserves to be criticized.

God all of you people bitching about Brodeur sucking during the olympics obviously didnt watch the game. He allowed 2 goals during that entire match, I was rooting for Team USA and even I realized that. Crosby scored on his own goal, another was because your defense didnt help Brodeur after he made a diving save, and the 3rd was an empty netter after you pulled him. BLAME YOUR DEFENSE, NOT MARTY!

I believe Martin Brodeur after the loss to the Americans in the Olympics was thrown under the bus. He is an amazing goaly with tons of records under his belt and one game and they made him out to be thee worst goaly ever they tarnished him. He let a couple bad goals but Canada wasnt scoring either. Canada's defence werent sticking to their assignments and that would end up 2 d-men covering one guy. Rafalski had all day at the point to shoot WTF? He sat sat and waited for perfect opportunity
