What does sucking its paw mean?....my cat did that when she was sitting on fluffy things but till now she never did that again :(

Never seen that before. We had two tail suckers which came about after playing with the cats and rubbing the end of their tails around their faces. Playful biting turned into sucking rather like this one. Cats really are strange, especially orientals. They never ease to amaze us.

I would say he is grooming his claws. Mine do this all the time and what they are doing is cleaning between the pads and scraping their claws to get rid any loose or frayed parts. If you regularly clip their nails/claws then they will do this immediately afterwards. Gotta love Maus though! They are the best!! lol thts cute. my cat sucks on my fingers. he'll grab and hold on with both his front paws and if i pull away he wraps all 4 legs around my arm, eyes wide open. he was abandoned on the side of a road. almost hit him. was very young. most definitely a thing they do when weened too early. started off as chewing my finger when he was teething. then into suckling. aint complaining tho. loved him from minute 1 and its a bond (however strange it may be) that he will only have with me.

I know why he's doing this. He's imitating suckling on his mother. He misses her and a lot of cats find "something" to substitute their mothers. This is the first I have seen to suck it's own paw! Very cute. The other paw is needing like they do when they breast feed. They are massaging the mother to keep the milk flowing. (there is a more technical way to say this but I don't feel like looking it up.)

Some cats just like to suck things. It might be because of being weaned too early. My cat is all grown and still goes for my ear lobes from time to time. I guess this little kitty thinks it has a thumb :)
