My 02 a4 sounded like that but a little worse when my ac compressor took a shit. Take the serpentine belt off and see how it sounds

The passat 1.8t is such a flawed car. Beautiful, awesome to drive, smooth, powerful, but flawed. I love mine, so when it falls apart, I just put it back together.

At least the year model that I own ('02) is flawed. The '02 has a lot of trouble with oil sludging and sometimes fuel leaks.There were several recalls on the 2002. Otherwise they are very good cars. Solid, and a joy to drive. I would go for an '05 or newer if you're looking to buy one.

The car is a B6 Audi A4 1.8T. The car has a timing belt as well as a cam chain. Look up 1.8T motor on Wikipedia, enough said. Soo many retarded comments on this video.

I own a 1.8T A4 myself and have physically done a timing belt replacement on the car.

There are 1.8t's longitudinal and transverse, it could be a passat...

it is for fact a passat, because the plenum chamber houses the brake fluid resovoir, and no other 1.8t has this, so it is defo a 3b pre facelift passat, so juliangamboa69, get your fact straight before you start swearing you mouth off...

yeah change your timing chain and tensioner but make sure u get prices everywhere cause it is expensive.

Your cam chain is about to break. Mine made the same sound then it snapped while I was driving. Trust me you dont want that to snap, and bend all your valves. Take it to VW cause if it snaps, your going to be paying alot more out of pocket then if it breaks while driving.
