Yep, a rod failed. It was nearly 100º F ambient temps and I was pushing it super hard with the new close-ratio gearset keeping it under full boost the whole time, this combination was the nail in the coffin. I'm still happy with the reliability that I had with this turbo kit on the stock block for so long.
Unlucky :( It looked RAPID before your problem though! I take it you noticed a big difference with the GT28 over the standard turbo? Coilovers look good too. I love the gauges, I wasn't willing to fork out nearly £200 for the pod gauge though thanks to high postage to England.
