It isn't a Theory at all. The reason why evolution is said to be a "THEORY" is cause you can't perceive EVOLUTION happening in front of your eyes. It takes place over millions of years which is why Evolution will always be a "THEORY".

But fossil records and genetic studies have proven the existence of such a theory and it does a great job in explaining our place on this planet and that of every other species!

To use the argument "it is only a theory" is pointless because as I had said earlier, Evolution will ALWAYS be a "THEORY" because of the nature of how it happens.

The word THEORY (in this context) is highlighting the undemonstratable aspect of Evolution NOT to be confused with the layman's definition of the word 'theory' or a CONJECTURE.

I really urge you to read Darwin's Origin of Species. 'Evolution' is highly misunderstood by many!
