@hajitwoface Since Desmond's memory has struck somewhere in the Animus, the computer usually schedule to clean its disk after a while and would have delete Desmond's memory. Subject 16, on the other hand, is kind of like a bug surviving in the Animus program and cannot be deleted by disk cleanup. I guess when 16 hugged Desmond he kind of switch their file's name/registry so the Animus recognized 16 for deletion and Desmond can still stay in the program. I hope this is reasonable for you.

okay so i couldnt figure out where i subject 16 before..the character model..there was something so familiar...and i figured it out in the last altiar seal memory...altiars son darim share the EXACT same character model. not surprising since desmond and clay come from the same family ...at least up until ezio..and i think the wikia confirmed that divergence occurred a little after that. but anyway still cool he was an awesome character..loved the build up but poor ending to clay

Athrough one theory i had was that earlier in the game 16 meantioned to desmon about "going with him" back to the real world so maybe when he grabbed desmon then he was able to download a copy of himself into desmon (or at least a piece of him containing information which he will need later on).

Its not that he is tricking the animus into thinking clay is Desmond, as they are both codes and its almost impossible to make a code look like another code just by putting them side by side... Clay implanted more code into Desmond so there would be more code to delete, in essence he strengthen Desmond own code with his own, I guess you could say he lives on in Desmond.

For those who wonder why Clay grabbed Desmond before he let him go to the sync nexus:

1. He said earlier that animus might hunt Desmond down and "delete" him so when Desmond entered sync nexus, Clay would be distracting Animus. During the video you can see that animus is trying to "remove" Desmond for the last time, so Clay stopped him to make animus think that Clay was Desmond.

2. I think you would do the same thing with the last person you will ever meet. + Desmond gave Clay his final peace

Is it just me, or am I the only one who thinks that 'Revelations' is a totally inappropriate name for this Assassins Creed game? I think AC 2 contained more revelations then this game did. WE learned NOTHING about why Desmond had to stab Lucy, and what her truth was. Despite everything still a good game though, only less epic as I imagined.

@Carlos848 The revelations are that Altair and Ezio realize their purpose at the end of their lives. Altair realizes that he has to guard a secret for someone like Ezio to learn later in life. Ezio realizes that he is a messenger to Desmond, passing along messages he discovered in hopes that Desmond can save the world in later generations to come. In the end, Desmond accepts his responsibility after being pulled back from the life he tried to escape to take his place as an Assassin

@Carlos848 The reason Desmond saw Jupiter and Ezio did not is because the "sync nexus" happened which they where talking about from the beginning of the game, it happened because: Ezio(the prophet)+Altair's Apple and knowledge stored in it+ Animus = Sync nexus for Desmond...And when Desmond woke up he knew the location of the Grand Temple (which stores every Vault's information and can save humanity from the incoming catastrophe). The rest will be shown in Assassin's Creed 3 (Another ancestor).
