It may have been 57316's first time after having the Dellner coupler fitted, they seemed ok doing what they were doing, and basically I wanted to capture how the scene would look not staged, but yes would have been interesting to see the uncoupling properly, next time hey?
Fortunately all seemed to go well on this occasion, however the interest may have been generated by the staff as it was probably 57316's first time as it had just been released from Brush as a 57.
Nothing to do with the fact that it was 57316's first time out having just been released from Brush as a 57. It was due to the fact that the shunter was being assessed so you had 1 shunter, 1 assessor and 2 fitters 1 to reset the AWS at the rear and the other to make sure the coupler goes in and the hatch come down properly.
Brilliant video !! never seen this being done before, and can't believe it such a faff. How long does this nonsense take ? Were they having problems or is this a "normal" uncouple ? Just select neutral, press the uncouple button on the desk and reverse in my 142......
Cheers! Yes class 47's are my favourites, shame it was other side of the station and I had to quickly get back on the Pendo before it departed for London.

@Intercity47GBRail No, just on a Saturday they do this now, unless there are engineering works.

Nice one, interesting to see how these work, you have at least told those engineers to move out way.
