  • Does anyone know the difference between Luminas and Bravas? The specs seem the same. I wear Dolce's but am thinking of switching to something in the Spotlight Collection.

  • cool! but that accent of the person fitting the shoes is annoying...gr...

  • They are so pretty My teacher said I am not even close to getting my pointe shoes lol but I no longer take ballet :(

  • This is a bit of a stupid question but can you do a piroeutte on a demi pointe? in normal ballet shoes not pointe or demi pointe shoes? i know i spelt piroeutte wrong

  • @keepcalmanddoballet did you see the pirouette video we just posted? Is that what you mean? On flats.

  • @mydancetv no i havent seen it i was just wondering what was the video?

  • @mydancetv yeah that is what i mean't thanks just watched the video it's great!

  • @keepcalmanddoballet oh good =)

  • I'm FINALLY getting my first pointe shoes tomorrow!!!!!! So. Ex.Cited.

  • ♥♥♥she rocks♥♥♥

  • They look just like my Russian pointes!

  • any ideas that might help with combination width feet when fitting. If it fits the front part of my foot the heels swim on me. I'm thinking special order but I want to be careful with that because it sounds like it would be a lot more expensive, especially if I buy the wrong ones.

  • @MegaCupcakesRule you mean you have narrow heel. Robbie is like that but has been okay . She has worn grishko elite, russian pointe lumina, and suffolk solos. If you mean the heel is long/baggy or you have a short heel you can sew the fabric up so it doesn't hang down.

  • @mydancetv thank you. it's a bit narrow, not tremendous, but still narrow. I first learned that I had narrow heel when I was fitted for figure skates and had to order a wide ball/narrow heel. Thank you and I hope that Robbie has a wonderful dance career for as long as she wants and always is able to love and find joy in her dancing.

  • Robbie has lovely arches!!

  • i have grishko elites:)

  • I have Bloch's. My friend has Grishkos. My teacher has Russian Pointes. What's the difference? If you watched all three of us go up, you wouldn't be able to tell what shoe was what brand. It doesn't matter about the brand. It matters about the dancer.

  • @OrchidLoutus2 you are right it matters what works for you- everybody is different - I always tell people try on as many shoes as you can!

  • @mydancetv That's exactly what my teacher said! Thank you!

  • @BornToDance98Xx My ballet instructor told me about "it". But I dont think I have "it."

  • 0:54 Are Russian and soft ballet shoes the same, or is there a difference? They look a lot like soft ballet shoes

  • @pokexlove russian pointes are different from flat - there are some videos of how pointe shoes are made if you search it ;)

  • @mydancetv Soft ballet shoes are basically pointe shoes with no ribbons, that's why I was wondering were they the same as Russian pointes :)

  • @pokexlove actually, you cannot go on point in soft ballet shoes, there is major difference between them two. Pointe shoes have a hard box like area where your toes are.

  • @PrincessSakuno I know the difference, it was just that she didnt have any elastics/ribbons and they looked like soft ballet shoes but I know they're not

  • How long does it take you to go through a pair of shoes? You have beautiful feet :)

  • @opossumgirl13 Thank you- right now they are still lasting a long time I don't get much pointe work but hopefully that is going to increase soon . My last school was about 6 or more hours a week now back at this one its like one hour unless I get a private! Not enough.

  • i dont get what all the big fuss is about with russians are they really better than any other pointes i have grishko 2007 pointes and a girl in my class is a pretentious little bitch who thinks shes the best and my dance teacher told me that i dance better than her so is about the pointes or is it about the dancer can someone please clear that up for me because i have been dancing since i was three and i always thought that it was about the dancer but now some people are telling me its not

  • @BornToDance98Xx you need way more than pretty shoes or feet to succeed in ballet. Grishkos are good shoes too and Russian. It really depends on what works for you not what brand they are. Nobody can fake ballet - it comes down to technique and the "it" factor in the end. Some people have perfect technique but are not exciting to watch.

  • @BornToDance98Xx mostly I think it has to do with technique, but attitude can affect the over all appearance as far as the "IT" factor and how it comes across. Your teacher was probably talking about the dance technique mostly.

  • Doesn't it hurt... I mean for me it does. Well I have a pair of pointe shoes but I don't have a class........Before you say anything At AkA Dance there only 20$ In a bin thingie so I got a pair that was 7 1/2s and I'am a 5.So there big but if you got pointe shoes and you really wanted them you would try them on and try going up on them. I will probably end up going on pointe in a year or two..... But I'am scared because I'am afraid it would hurt..... :(

  • @weaird0cat it's not that bad with toe pads but then again I don't dance on them 8 hours a day like some people - I'm sure it's not all pleasant! ;) But worth it.

  • a parents broken dreams, reflected upon his/her child....

  • @MrNocco I was an ice skater actually. What do your kids do sir? Nothing? This is actually a representation of a parent supporting a child's dream.

  • @ellaballerina99 thanks! Why do you think they go dead so fast? sometimes if you sink down in them they will or if wrong fit maybe? OR you are just doing tons of dancing! :) That would be the most fun reason!

  • i cnat wait to get pointe shoes!

  • oh oh ohhhh did you go to the dance store thats were i getting mine first time on pointe yeeeee... i will post a vid

  • how long have you been dancing

  • @decemberdolly15 I started just before I turned 4 ;)

  • WOW!! You are really good! I was just wondering if 11 was too early to start en pointe...I am a gymnast and have very strong toes, ankles, and calves and I have been doing ballet for 2 years now...any advice on what responsibilities and problems that can come with en pointe would be very appreciated! Thank You!

  • @LIV190877 my best advice is wait until your teacher says you are ready because so many things, even your core, determine when you are ready. I went on then switched schools and did not take my pointe shoes I waited for that school to say it was okay. It's better to get everything down pretty good in flats first then it's that much easier when you go on pointe i think. ;) <3

  • @mydancetv Thank you so much!! Your advice was very helpful!! You are AMAZING at ballet!

  • Great feet; Robbie gets over onto the platform so well! :-)

  • I'm getting fitted next week

  • @AnoukGaGa It doesnt matter the age, it matters the strenght in ur feet. Your teacher should tell you that u are ready or not

  • @Christopherkdancer Age matters because of bone development. Don't want malformed toes now, do we?

  • Beautiful feet....I have a feeling this girl is quite talented!

  • those shoes look pretty on ur feet

  • Do you get to go up on the pointe for trying it on (IM HAPPY)

  • @mydancetv Yay! :) Thank you.

  • @mydancetv Yay! :) Thank you.

  • @mydancetv Thank you.

  • Oh my teacher is going to say who is going up on pointe this Thursday! I hope I get it. Oh by the way your feet are so beautiful. <3

  • @TheGracefulBallerina good luck and thank you ;)

  • @mydancetv i cant wait to get on pointe im in levle 2 intermedent alm,ost 3 wat levle to u get pointe shoes in?

  • @lollypopkisses1 I was in level 4

  • Hi, is dance for almost 7 years (ballet) but now i want to start with the pointe shoe. Im now 11Years old, good age?

    xxx

  • @AnoukGaGa it depends on a lot of things - your teacher will know ;)

  • I'm only 11, and I started pionte, but I have a really big foot.... Like size 7.... Is that good or bad as a dancer??

  • @Alina29638 hmmm I dunno maybe it is full size already =)

  • @Alina29638

Personally I think that's good because when it's stretched in my opinion it makes your legs look longer :))

  • Robbie, what I really like about your dancing is that you seem to really enjoy it. Many dancers don't look as if they're having fun. You do!

  • @LittleVada thank you and I really really do enjoy it =)

  • I am getting my pointe shoes tomorrow, and I was wondering if you get to take them home right after they fit them to you, or do they have to be special ordered? Thanks, great video! :)

  • @microminipig You just buy them like normal shoes : Try them on,pay them and go back home with them :-)

  • @cops055 Awesome! Thanks so much for the help! Just got them and I am sooo happy with them! :) They are so nice! Thanks again!!!

  • No offense but I have seen better but you are still pretty good but you should try harder at turning out

  • robbie is best. lol i just found outshe has a yutube channel i know her from school. i guess i;m really lucky to have met her because there is no doubt in my mind that some one as talented as her wil go so far in life. ( wow i sound like im 40..... im only 13...hahaha)

  • Does it hurt ?

I am just gonna start in a few weeks , And I am nervous .. :P

  • @hello64722 only if your shoes don;t fit right and it kinda does with out toe pads- the box rubs on front of your toes etc.

  • @mydancetv Thanks (:

  • @sophiab9 because it's robbie's channel just like sophiab9 is yours. :/ is this really a question?

  • @sophiab9 wow tht was harsh cant u b happi for her i mean lik really -_-

  • @unicornluver90 LOL well I just didn't get it - I mean what else do you put on your own channel? That is why it's called "YOU" Tube. Right? Just thought it would be fun for people to follow along and be able to look back on old videos as she progresses but of course there will always be haters. Have to say most people are really nice though ;)

  • @mydancetv what i got lost xD i srry

  • @unicornluver90 sorry- if you go to the video you can see the thread- was just in response to the person asking what is so good about robbie

  • Hi can u tell me what shoes u like better I have creeds and soon I need to get new shoes do y have any recamedations?? Thanks!!

  • @icecream211000 u mean freeds? I like russian pointe but everybody's foot is different you just have to keep trying on pairs to see what feels best and find someone that knows how to fit!

  • @icecream211000 i do pointe and it depends on ur feet if there really flexible or not i have to use freeds srudio two 2 shank and maybe 3 shank

  • I love Robbie's feet!

  • Wow... o_o Your feet are so strong! I am starting pointe next week. Any tips? ;)

  • @ballerinaTV remember your corrections, pull up in your knees, don't sickle stay over your big toe find shoes that fit! ;)

  • @mydancetv thx :)

  • I am starting pointe this September and I can't wait!!!!

  • @FrenchRoseDances straighten your knees, pull up, use your core, roll through, stay over your big toe ;)

  • How long have you been en pointe?

  • @dnsc9798 I started at 10 but then went off for a few mos so about 2 years now ;)

  • i have russian pointe !!!!!!!!

  • Lol when I first saw Robbie I was amaze I'm just have a same age as her so what I did I practice until at night and then my tr. Said your ready for pointe :D

  • We have heaps of koala bears in Australia and I have one which is holding a baby koala in it's hands it's really cute!

  • i have been dancing for 11 1/2 years ever since i was 2 1/2. this summer i am getting pointe shoes and i am very excited!! i remeber watching Robbie's first pointe shoes fitting! i would be the first person to go en pointe in my school since a few years. does any one know any well stocked dance stores in london?? i have extremely wierd feet and my teacher doesnt many types that are on the market :P there isnt a pointe shoe store here in jordan so i have to wait untill i go to england this summer

  • @mliaab there is all the dance shops in London like Bloch, Capezio etc, I have been and there are many of shoes to look at... I am sure they can point you in the right direction of where to find some! :)

  • @DazzleexD thank you very much!! after seeing your comment, i went to many dance websites to see if they have any retailers in london and now i have a map of all the places!!! thak you very much you really helped :)

  • @mliaab No worries, there really easy shops to find too! Hope you manage to get some pointe shoes! :)

  • r russian pointe shoes different to normal? i have suprima pointes because my feet r quite narrow...

  • Hi Robbie I love ur dancing you seem really good! I'm from Australia and I'm on pointe as well!

  • @balletfever9 thank you!

  • Wanna know what's really crazy... I dance as well as she does minus the pointe shoes and Im about 13 but i've been dancing for 2 yrs.

  • (continued)- equivalent of a med. shank, and die very quickly. I'm considering returning to Grishkos, first starting with a med. shank for famililarity, & then perhaps trying the hard shank again, since it has been years, my feet have changed, and I have different breaking-in techniques. There also could have been an issue with that particular pair of shoes years ago. Anyway, what is it about the Russians you don't like? I would like to explore a bit. And maybe the Jetstreams would work for you?

  • I read that you are probably going back to the Grishkos? I too wore Grishko Elites for years, although one width wider, and I have very similar shaped toes. However, as my foot became too strong for a medium shank, I went up to the hard shank and found that it had a very different feel. I suddenly had trouble getting over the box in the same manner as I always had. I have dabbled with others, and am currently using Bloch Jetstreams. I absolutely love them, however, they only come in the

  • I'm getting my pointe shoes this summer!!!!!!!! Yay! I'm 13...tomorrow! I'll post a vid for sure!

  • Grace is excellent, I go there every time :) I hope you found a shoe that works for you!

  • @deedidly I think it is just personal preference.

    Keep up the good work!(:

  • @bbygirland1 Oh I changed a schools a while ago and just switched again because my teacher switched . He was going to start a studio but instead we are teaming up with an existing studio. ;)

  • Does anyone else find this fitters voice comforting? Unlike that other fitter Robbie had. Robbie your feet look amazing! 

  • wow! your feet are beautiful!!!!!!!!

  • It feels good seeing someone as talented as Robbie on the internet for all to admire :) I love ALL of her video's many times as she truly is inspirational and talented! keep it up and keep on posting! I am sure I'm not the only one who appreciates Robbie out there!! <3

  • ok I have very wide feet i tryed grishko 2007s size 4 xxx and it was way to small i have very wide feet and i had a hard time getting over the box, I tryed on russians and i think my bone above my pinky toe might end up sticking out because its too small of a width, do you have any other shoes in mind i could try?

  • Wow! I am 10 and haven't got my pointe shoes yet, but I expect to get them soon. Robbie, your feet are beautiful! JaydaBird :)

  • @ladyunicorngarden thank you ;)

  • hi robbie can u wacth my video its called am i ready for pointe shoes and my name is millieandpercy thankxs

  • Why did she need new shoes?

  • hmmmm...what model of Russian Pointe did Robbie eventually choose? I have worn Russian Pointes too but only one pair I had Entrada with a medium hard flexible shank.

  • new russian shoes for new russian school! lol

  • My sister wears Luminas :) I wear Entradas. Russian Pointes are THE BEST.

  • whats the difference between Russian pointe shoes and ..other types of point shoes? are they any better ?

  • @MissGracieLove They are a great brand but it depends a lot on your needs and preferences ;) So many choices for so many different feet.

  • @mydancetv Is your sisster on point? how much did your shoes cost? thanks Robbie for being a good firend!! :D

Also i would like to know if u can make a vidoe of how u make a ballet bun or how u do your and tips about hair

  • @MissGracieLove I find that Russian shoes tend to twist more once broken in for me, but my friend Meghan has had them for 3 years and loves them still. I am now in suffolk shoes.

  • I'm 12 also and I have Russian pointe shoes. I love them they are my absolute favorites! Everyone tells me they are such a whitish color but I think it makes them even more beautiful.

  • what level are you?

  • @DANCEnmakeup I was 4a but the new school will only have 4 levels beginner, intermediate a, intermediate b and advanced. I'll be in an intermediate group. It will be a small school. Like my sister is beginner and he is only accepting 12 students.

  • what level are you?

  • as odd as this may sound, I live my dream of dancing by watching Robbie Even though shes younger than me (im 15) I still cant believe how good she is! Although I cant dance because of money issues in my family I hope Robbie continues on and becomes a famous ballerina so I can take my daughter to see her some day :)

  • @Nereslovesfashion Hopefully she can leave you VIP pass at box office haha ;) I hope you can find a way to dance! Maybe even when you are older. It's never too late. For now dance at home!

  • @mydancetv lol Ive actually been learning basic stuff on youtube and Robbie inspired me to do splits!! Ive been stretching for a couple of months now and I have my splits down! When Im 16 im getting a job so I can begin dance and Its always good to be flexible right?

  • @Nereslovesfashion Ya - that is great! Keep it up! Maybe you can get a theraband they are cheap and be working on your feet.

  • @Nereslovesfashion It's never too late. You shouldn't be deprived of persuing your dreams because of money. There's lots of smaller studios out there that don't charge a lot. I'm an adult and I just started taking ballet.

  • @jerrysch I wish! but I live in a big city and have looked everwhere! The cheapest I can find is 65 a month for one class a week but money issues stop that from happening but I do learn alot from videos here on youtube ! anyway, its too late for me to try to take it to a proffesional level

  • do they look that white in real life? or does the camera just fade the colour?

  • @Ballet4Everz It's just the lighting- they are normal color Russians not white ;)

  • @Ballet4Everz they look white or a really REALLY pale pink! I tryed a pair on myself in my 5th fitting.

  • Such beautiful feet! :) I use Russians too, and they're so comfortable they feel like slippers on my feet. :) I hope they work really well for you, too!

  • @LittleYellowCrayon thanks- what kind do you have?

  • @mydancetv Lumina :)

  • Aww, she collects Koalas! My school mascot is a Koala! (all-girls school) :)

  • i'm happy you found a good fit :) that's always very important. I just switched to freeds from grishkos and I like them a lot because my feet are very narrow. It's great you fixed the bunion problem too. Oh, and enjoy the koala ^_^

  • her feet are so pretty

  • Are those white pointe shoes? They look really pretty!

  • @Banquo85 No it's just the lighting making them look lighter ;) Thanks!

  • Your daughter is so beautiful!!! Robbie is very lucky!

  • @DCLjellygrape aw thanks! ;-D

  • was she holding on to a bar? and does robbie ever let her sucess go to her head?

  • @penugin98 there was a barre for some support and still very, very long road to success haha ;) chipping away at it. She is a good girl (most of the time).

  • @Elandrapeach I know! What will be really weird is in a couple of years to look back at when she was 10!! Should be interesting ;)
