  • watch it stoned way better

  • WE HATES BAGGINS!! WE HATES IT FOREVER!!!

  • "Thirty white horses on a red hill,

    First they stamp,

    Then they champ,

    Then they stand still..."

  • "A box without Hinges,

Key or a lid, yet Golden Treasure lays inside."

  • @XeonTalson an egg :P

  • all the music is awesome in this flim and i like the gollum in the 1977 version than 1980s return of the king in that version he had two teeth stikeing out and in the 1978 verison of lord of the rings gollum just was werid ps this is gollum

  • Right before this song begins: "Bilbo, where are you?"

  • Gollum looked way more ancient and transformed by his obsession of the ring in the way he was depicted in this version of The Hobbit.

  • This thing, all things devours-

    Birds, beasts, trees, flowers,

    Gnaws Iron, Bites steel,

    Grinds hard stones to meal;

    Slays Kings, Ruins Towns,

    And brings high mountain-

    DOOOOOOOOOOWWWNN!!!!!!!!!

  • @MattBOrange time

  • @yazzor828 someone watched the movie lmao

  • Always loved this song in the movie, especially when the scene panned over and you saw the goblin skeleton. "Nasty little squeaker!"

  • its wierd, the gollum scene in this movie is rlly the only scene from *any* movie that gives me goose bumps... theres just something so sinister and wicked about it....the music/chorus of this song really adds to the creepiness..... im getting a chill down my spine as i type this....

  • @TheDubiousD I might have to agree with you on that. Just the atmosphere of his cave is so dismal, you ask yourself "this nasty little thing really just chills in here all day?". I love the art style of this movie, so beautiful when it needs to be and so dark and chilling when it's appropriate.

  • @TheDubiousD yes, me too! There is just something soooo creepy - it's the music, the words, the visuals, it all rolls together beautifully!

  • It was weird that Gollum looked like a Frog in the Movie :D

  • @FrozenGex

Well, to be fair, his description in the book makes him sound pretty frog-like: He's described as "a small slimy creature" with "big, round pale eyes in his thin face", "long fingers", and "large flat feet". It also mentions that he has six teeth, including fangs. So, aside from his color (he's supposed to be "dark as darkness") his design in the movie is really quite faithful to the book.

  • "In it's nassssty... little... pocketesessssss!!!"

  • ummm.... i have some questions:

    Why is Bilbo's hair black?

Why is he holding a spear?

    Whi is Smaug green?

    Why is Gollum green?

Why is there a giant moth-looking thing over by Gandalf's head?

  • @SoldierFortune23 The picture is just funky and makes bilbos hair dark, Smaug isnt green in the movie so im as lost as you! hahaha Gollum was green though. And the moth is gandalfs signal that the eagles are coming!

  • @NickGimacutU Yea I was wondering the same thing, Seriously what the heck?

  • @SoldierFortune23

"Why is he holding a spear?"

Not just a spear, it's a battle standard. Though Bilbo did take part in the war of five armies, he did no actual fighting. Perhaps holding a guidon represents this.

    This is just my speculation.

Chances are this album cover was merely an artists conception and the artist in question didn't care or just wasn't overly concerned with continuity. Just another "gig" and "trying to meet the bills" as it were.

  • Time... Nuff said

  • They only did one riddle in this song! In the movie there where about four! This was only one of them!

  • hmm this particular song is the best among the listed song

  • Vote up if you think that Smaugs voice was Perfect for the character!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TargonTheDragon it was beyond perfect

  • egggggggggggsssssssssss. Eggggggggggggggssssssss. EEEEEEEEEGGGGGGGGGGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They failed with this Gollums looks but his voice and movements were fantastic! Much creepier then the live action one.

  • Thumbs up of you think this song should be in Peter Jackson's new Hobbit movie!

  • @50percentGrey I wish. I didn't care for the live-action LotR movies; they weren't bad, but they weren't great either. I do hope he does a good job on The Hobbit, though, as I like it even better than the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

  • everytime i've read this riddle in the book i start singing it like this XD

    ♫the answer is daaaaaark...the daaaaaaaark....daaaaaaark♫

  • A box without hinges, key or lid. Yet golden treasure inside is hid.

If I don't like a teacher I'll ask them this riddle and every teacher I've asked didn't know the answer haha.

  • @MichaelMorbius4ever Ask them thish

Thirty White Horses on a red hill

    First they champ

    Then they champ

    Then they stand still

  • @WallisTylerJ Chestnuts

  • I wonder if he told riddles to the goblins before he ate them.

  • In places deep, where dark things sleep.

  • I can't wait to see this scene in the live-action film. Andy Serkis is a fantastic Smeagol/Gollum. The man who did the voice for him in this one did really great too.

  • This song is creepy as hell.I couldn't listen to this in a all dark room.Still love the song!!.It sounds so mysterious and again creepy.

  • i grew up watching this movie and i own it and still watch it

  • I grew up with this movie!

  • This song always creeped me out, and one of the rock formations looked like a goblin, that made it all the more creepy,

  • Though the live action version of Gollum was pretty creepy, I'd have to say the animated Gollum wins the 'Scary Creep' award for he was introduced to me as a child, making me slightly terrified of him.

  • love this song...this is what I remember most from the epic EPIC movie.

  • <3 Brother Theodore

  • I remember watching this movie on VHS when I was a kid and I still have some fond memories of this movie

  • Andy Serkis was and will be brilliant as Smeagol/Gollum, but, truth be told, no one....NO ONE will ever replace Theodore Bikel in my mind, he nailed the role like no other!

  • "Alive without breath,

    As cold as death;

    Never thirsty, ever drinking,

    All in mail never clinking..."

  • @DLAbaoaqu FISH!! =D

  • @DLAbaoaqu

    A fish :D

  • @DLAbaoaqu Fishes my precious.

  • @WallisTylerJ actually it's teeth.

  • @DLAbaoaqu Fish, it is Fish!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @DLAbaoaqu Funny that, I've heard that same riddle in this classic PC rpg game, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn! Its goes like this: "Alive as you but without breath, as cold in my life as in my death; never a thirst though I always drink, dressed in a mail but never a clink." - Fish

  • @DLAbaoaqu

    "This thing all things devours,

    Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;

    Gnaws iron, bites steel,

    Grinds hard stone to meal;

    Slays king, ruins town,

    and beats high mountain down!"

  • @DLAbaoaqu "..Drowns on dry land, Thinks an island Is a mountain; Thinks a fountain Is a puff of air. So sleek, so fair! What a joy to meet! We only wish To catch a fish, So juicy-sweet!"
  • Brother Theodore was a creepy person in general, so he was the perfect Gollum

  • Is it juicy my precious....Does it like Riddles?!

Does it taste tender my precious we wonder...yes....

Gollum in this movie was awesome and creepy.

  • @Dracomancer350 and also naked

  • @Dracomancer350 I dont like that he looks like a furry frog though

  • @Dracomancer350 I like his design in this movie (and Rankin/Bass's Return of the King) better than in other media.

  • The part were he first meets Golumn used to scare me when I was real little but now I love it! And this riddle is my favorite from the books.

  • @xxSilverBlood13xx Definately. The greatest riddle of all time, if only because of the epic spooky soundtrack.

Oh, if you thought this scene was scary, check out Peter and the Wolf. That still freaks me out a bit.

  • Cool riddles. Great movie. Can't wait for the films to come out in late 2011 and 2012.

  • My aunt took me to go see this movie when I was young.

  • @divinorumdave was it freaky when you saw?
