curly, yes. She was NY's best kept secret. In the mid to late 90s, you could see shows for 10-bucks.

Being a NYer, I remember my teacher saying she saw Bob Dylan for free and that he was only 5-feet away. Then another generation said they saw Jeff Buckley for next to nothing. Now, I can brag that I saw Chan so many times for next to nothing and was so close to the stage that I saw her lips quiver.

yep Lossforwords, i'm happy for you and so glad i had the luck too, in Barcelona, and we were like 15 people and she left the stage and sat next to me in the middle of a song - Crossbone Style) she didn't wanna sing (but the guitarrist insisted on keeping playing it) and she started crying. One of the most touching and meaningfull shows i've ever experienced.
