It's a show that's insulting to all the "warriors". They fucking called the pacifist Shaolin monks "China's deadly killing machines!" What the fuck is that!? Frankly, "Deadliest Warrior" does science like CSI - all flash, absolutely no substance. Anyone with the slightest understanding of science can tell you that, whiz-bang gadgets aside, nothing scientific is taking place here. That's what makes the show so stupid.

As interesting as watching the use of ancient weapons is, it's in no way a "scientific" comparison of those weapons. The show's conclusions don't follow their data, and seem to depend entirely on an unexplained technological "black box" - just like CSI.

@guysmiley00 Force of pressure of explosions, historical replicas of weapons, speed recorder, and other devices provide some data that's soft science. It's not like they just have experts remark about their relative fields and then just randomly decide from a black box. They do some soft science and then use the black box.

Yes, everything else is completely unscientific aside from the gadgetry, but it is more science than CSI. It's on the level of Mythbusters.

Nerds complain because any true fan of warriors think that the half assed and arbitrary comparisons presented on this awful show are insulting.

Pirates and Knights for example did not have some kind of unique martial arts disciplines. The show's 'analysis' is beyond stupid. It's like comparing a centaur to a dragon

@Rubberman202 Actually, the Knights had tremendous martial arts discipline. They practiced swordplay every day of their lives. The only difference between them and the Samurai is that their armour was so superior to the Samurai's (especially with the shield), they were so loaded down with weapons and they had such huge horses they rode on that the idea of fighting hand to hand would have seemed ludicrous to them. Fencing and Kendo are both considered martial arts.

I actually had to disagree with some guy who tried to say that ALL Samurai rode in on horseback. He said that the Samurai were just cavalry dragoons and the Phalanx would defeat them easily. I had to tell him that in fact, the opposite is true and the Phalanx was crap vs. cavalry but great vs infantry...lol
