  • I've heard Jimi Durso live. This track is gives us a taste of his artistic abilities. He's got great chops and has a lot to say.

If i may, I would like to request some more Jimi Durso, unthrottled, on double-bass, over-dubbing some of the more challenging hard bop tracks (e.g., solo Thelonious Monk).

  • Jimi Durso is an awesome musician!

  • Sounds great to me!!

  • the good stuff.thank you

  • Man of many parts. Great Playing!

  • rocking solo Jimi!

  • @lauriemonk

    Thanks!

    Twang!

  • This is incredible

  • Nice interaction and flow of notes to go with the backing track. He also has a heartfelt feel that pulls you along with the arpeggios' rise and fall.

  • @dmartk

Thank you for the big compliment.

  • Go Jimi!

(A very different kind of guitar playing than when we gigged together years ago... was great then, & very impressive now, too!)

  • The concept of "shredding" as i understand it, is the ability to play tasteful arpeggios very fast. Expression and evocation of a deep feeling is secondary, at best. Here, we're treated to the wonderful playing of Jimi Durso . Not only does he build up to levels of intensity, but by shifting modes of expression, it's as if he's telling a story - what all great Art is about.
