  • Can we use this for football to help prevent an ankle injury even if we don't have one????

  • @LewLew1584 yes you can, I do this on a daily basis, Good Luck!

  • I recently sprained my ankle in hockey and I was wondering where I would buy the self adhesive spray? And what kind of tape did you use?

  • @BarDownArey2 sports tape u can buy the spray at cvs

  • one of the more pro ones out there. not to mention concise and simple. thanks!

  • 0_0

  • One of the best tape jobs I've seen

  • that was so pro

  • @tsunamiplayer3 thanks enjoy the other videos.

  • Thanks for the kind words, Well he or she will get more practice and it will get better. Good Luck with your sports.

  • I have fractured many bones and tore ligaments in my ankle during both soccer and volleyball seasons so I've seen my schools trainer a few times and gotten him to tape my ankles. Honestly nobody else would understand this but an athlete, but to tape an ankle like that and that fast is TALENT. I will sit for a good 10 minutes and end up getting the tape all lumpy and getting it stuck all over the world EXCEPT for my ankle.

  • Im always in the trainer's room when it comes to my ankle cause i sprained it in the summer during beggining volleyball season... what is better a BRACE or getting it taped each time?

  • @Lyn683 well, if you don't have a ton of money buy a brace. if you have an athletic trainer before each practice tape it. Most of our Volleyball players use a brace as a preventative measure. I hope that helps. Merry Christmas

  • @liverdaddy I think im going to go with a brace cause during my off season i am in club with NO trainers.. Thanks for replying!

  • oh boyy! that was too fast! lol

  • Liverdaddio. You are too quick to respond...THANK YOUUUU ;)

  • I sprained my ankle 2weeks ago. I am ITCHING to run again. I want to continue training but is this kind of taping too much for a runner?? :(

  • @jenlove11 nope, but you might play with it to see what works for you.

  • I am a new figure skater will this help for better ankle support?

  • :O teach me master!

  • Basically tape the fuck out or your ankle!

  • @goldenboyballa I like to think it is smooth and fast...

  • He didn't position the foot in neutral!!! LOL that's a fail on my lab exam. :/

  • @missyz15 LOL, While I didn't say it you are correct it needs to be at a 90 degree angle to be in proper position. My instructional video might be more descriptive. Good Luck and I hope to see you at a convention some day!

  • wow that looks insanely tight....

  • omg then u do what what when OMG

  • @Peacegirl82323 look at my instructional video it might be a bit slower, enjoy!

  • i'm a soocer player...i've an injury on my ligaments on my ankle...will i be able to play socer with this taping?!

  • @SuperCrazy301 yep, tape soccer players everyday.

  • If it's too tight that it hurts should to take it off?

  • @CFball4life32 depends,do you feel your toes going numb or toes tuning purple yeah you should but its supposed to be tight but not tight ennough to hurt if an atheltic trainer put it on just tell them

  • @CFball4life32 hmm, I think that would be a good idea. Tape it again until you get it right.

  • it looks tight... the foot will turn blue in awhile.

  • @iFARTyouDIE If it isn't tight the purpose of taping the ankle is gone.

  • slow down... ur talking to a foot!

  • it should be called "how to mummify an ankle"

  • I attend Genesee Community College in Batavia, Ny. I am a phys ed major. Yesterday was my first time ever taping an ankle. I was off a little but if i continue to use video's like these, i feel i should easily pass the practical exam. Jason D. Reese

  • @jreese71 your welcome

  • it looks tight

  • @BEASTZ2335 it is, it is not a sock..

  • I blinked...and he was done.

  • @kryptoniteallnite yeah, this was never intended for all the traffic it now has, I do have an instructional video as well, much slower and more explanation, let me know.

  • thx, this video was an awesome help

  • wow. i agree with @slslango i most certainly wasn't expecting this; but was very informative =).

  • World cup in taping.

  • Nice video, very informative although I was wondering if this is a universal tape job for all sports or just a certain one, thaaannnkkksss bruuu

  • I have a 3rd degree sprain, will this work for skateboarding?

  • this was stupid fast

  • Which is the name of the blue tape you are using for ?

    Tx, very nice job !

  • @EINIAAINIE ha!.thats pre wrap.its not tape.haha.its like a foam kind of thing.ha.its not even sticky.ha.

  • tape cast

  • i need to stop inversion and eversion and give support to my ankle does this stop it

  • How am I supposed to remember each step to wrapping the ancle

  • THATS A DAM CAST LOL

  • WOW. this guy is a monster with tape! do you just cut the tape off with scissors or what? haha. because there's no easy way to get that off.

  • @sweetsouthernsUGA LOL, it comes off in about 2 seconds. 5 seconds with a good pair of 7 1/4 lister scissors. Benchmade knives makes some cool hooks, then off it comes in about a second.

    Thanks for the kind words.

  • @sweetsouthernsUGA Pull the tape to the sides to apply tension, then split in opposite directions to "cut" the tape.

  • @John234pwns another great way to say it, thanks

  • thats a nice cast

  • ok... can you repeat that?

  • what about for soccer? cuz i wear really tight shoes so would i use less tape?

  • This helps so much :)

  • Awesome! The way u did it i feel better already lols imma go to the doc tmmrw i sprained my ankle i hope its not that bad schools over next weekand then i got swimming copetitions and of course soccer every week do u need crutches to walk around on i dont want them they cause to much attention i like the attention but not Ll the time im not like those ppl that want crutches did i even spell it right ur tlkn id very uh i 4g the word but watev luved the vid

  • Do the horseshoes have be on the back side? I was taught to have them on the front starting medial and going to lateral

  • I love how he is explaining. Great voice and tonality :-)

  • thats the neatest tape job ive ever seen (:

  • That was the best tape-job I ever had. Thanks!

  • wow.......that waz fast!

  • will ths slow down my running speed?

  • You say this helps for inversion rolls, does it work for the opposite side as well? Is this helpful is I have tarsal issues?

  • Jeez this is like a full hard body cast

  • does this work for tennis?? Because i play singles and am running back & forth around the court.

  • yes. I don't need a figure 8 :)

  • @liverdaddy

what about soccer players who need little bit of freedom in movement

  • @GioLeaKata I use this method for taping my ankles while playing soccer. I play Forward and sometimes as an attacking Center Fielder and though this looks like it hinders a lot of movement, I play perfectly and have great range of motion in my ankles.

  • @dxsinisterxb thanks for the kind words.

  • @liverdaddy thanks for the video. I have a question everytime i tape my ankle it feels alright for a while but as i start to play i feel blood presure in my foot,it hurts and as a result i take it off.is it supposed to be like that or im the one who cant tape properly? thank U

  • @dinjable you might have it a bit tight...

  • does this work for rugby? I usually figure 8

  • @ivanflr Wait isb\nt that a sport in the europe area,..

  • I don't require them, figure 8's are a waste of tape. they prevent dorsiflex and plantar flexion. I don't want to do this. I just want to prevent inversion. Give it a try, this has been working great for me for more than 20 years :)

  • Is there a reason why you didnt include 3 figure eights? Or is this a different type of tape job.

  • I play rugby and I need to move around a lot. I've had my ankle wrapped by others and I'm looking to do it myself. But I need a lot of movement with my ankle still able to breathe. Not cutting circulation. Will this work with the extensive movement?

  • Hey liver daddy

    1) what was used specifically-Materials:

    2) and i got hurt snowboarding but i practice freerunning and flipping...and the front of my ankle hurts during certain landings. My coaches said tape it up but do you think this job would work for that scenario.

  • Does this withheld soccer?

  • @pimpinpinkking i got this same tape job nearly everyday during the season for soccer. felt great

  • Liverdaddy - thx, great info + helpful video for people trying to get their bodies back-to-good after an injury.

  • Will this work for volleyball. Because I need to jump a lot. Will this let me jump the same as with a ankle brace

  • @XxREAPER3024xX

    yes, it will work fine

  • I really like how you do that just the way i do it

  • ha i like how he does fast!

  • Is this for any sport? works for basketball?

  • @MkTovar yep, I tape basketball players everyday.

  • @liverdaddy what kind of a tape is that do you know? it cant be zinc oxide?

  • @liverdaddy u trainers do a great job, wen i roled my ankle i got it taped and it helped. But gosh u make it hard to get off :D

  • this guy is a speed demon

  • it looks like an art when you do that xD

  • can i do this over the top of my football / soccer socks?

  • @DICTATExTHExPACE

I suppose, bit tougher to cut off.

  • @DICTATExTHExPACE

You shouldn't. You want it as close to the ankle as possible. The more barriers between the skin and the tape, the less effective the tape job will be. Your socks will just make it slip and be lose.

  • can someone do this themselves?

  • @skateflips66 yes but it is a bit hard to do.

  • what about the figure 8s?

  • can this be used before basketball games or will it limit one's mobility?

  • @boegsean I use this tape job everyday for basketball, no it just prevents inversion sprains.

  • Madre mia, esto es el vendaje de cristiano que salio en marca jajajaja que velocidad

  • hey what do you put on the non stick dressing?? its like a yellow thing...whats it called?

  • @blue4hate

watch my instructional video, it is in more detail and slower :)

  • very good this video is very informative. checkout unicyclehoopster on youtuube

  • holy shit haha he is a Beast! i suck at taping ankles and i have a pratical tomorrow im gonna fail

  • @Sk8errr4Lifeeee

check out my instructional video, much slower and better instruction, good luck tomorrow. taping is just practice, practice, practice. I have taped a few ankles.

  • @liverdaddy How does one find your instructional video?

  • @shmecca123

here is the link i hope it helps. search Liverdaddy

  • @shmecca123

i hope it helps. search Liverdaddy

  • @Sk8errr4Lifeeee Hey, How did your practical go?

  • @epicjess oh great! haha i did better then i expected =)

  • @Sk8errr4Lifeeee Good for you!! From one med student to another! :)

  • Hey thanks a lot man... U helped me out huge! Little hard by myself but I did it. Helped me play bball tonight lol

  • Thanks, what would you like to see next?

  • I loooove your videos..I've been watching them for a year and a half and I always go back to them for reference, you have the BEST technique I've seen so far..and you are an amazing instructor!! PLEASE post more vids!

  • this video should be titled: "how to make a shoe out of tape"

  • that was OG status right there!

  • did you start your heel locks on the lateral side? My teacher in intro to athletic training told us that you're supposed to always start from the medial side

  • @sugarbabies3 Yes, this prevent inversion sprains watch the instructional video. A bit slower and easier to see

  • please, what is the name of the first track he puts on the ankle? that the color blue?

    ty:)

  • @fabioaarruda The color is purple, it is called pre wrap.

  • you lost me a hello

  • @LMnightRebel Hello, go to my instructional ankle taping video it is much slower.

    Good luck

  • @LMnightRebel he didnt say hello once in the whole video...

  • Would you recommend using this taping technique for general ankle support (non-injury)? I'm thinking of soccer players specifically.

  • is it possible to learn to apply this to your own ankle? My brother in law uses this technique to tape my ankle for volleyball matches, and I really like the support it gives, but he is not always available. I know & understand the steps now, I just need to know if it can be properly applied -because of the angles and tensions involved- by myself. thanks.

  • @Lynchmann Yes is is possible just takes lots of practice. I can do it but it is much much slower :)

    Good luck

  • Comment removed

  • that was beautiful

  • just have a quick question....how do you remove this? Thanks.

  • @trecoolsrebelrocker blunt ended bandage scissors

  • Thanks alot. Sprained my ankle earlier in the week, and need to get it taped so i can play golf this weekend. Now my wife can watch the video and tape it up. Great work!

  • hes going too fast!

  • i dont really agree the you do your heel locks... it should pull the talus and calcaneous laterally. ALWAYS. to prevent inversion pf the foot. The medial ligament of the ankle is even stonger than the the tape u put...

  • @yurimontemar I would watch again, that is exactly what it does. and yes you are correct. so the heel locks prevent inversion movements. which is 90% of all ankle sprains.

  • omg.. hes bookin it

  • Why tape as opposed to getting a brace? What is better for a hockey skate?

  • i need some help with how to tape my wrists, but being a gymnast i need support but i still need to leave alot of flexion in the wrist. Are there any taping methods that leave alot of flex??

  • why is it from the inside?

my sports medicine teacher does it from the outside.

I'm not sure if im using the correct terms:/

  • you suck. slow down, shit.

  • i wanna see u take that off

  • @bsizzle135 If you have the right tool it's not too difficult.

  • @bsizzle135 , it takes about 3 seconds to take it off :)

  • @liverdaddy Wait whaat? How?

  • @ward55

go to my instruction video it is much slower and detailed. search liverdaddy

  • @bsizzle135 it actually doesnt take that much effort just take a finger or scissors and cut it or pull it! i have to tape it 3-4 times a week

  • @bsizzle135 it's actually really hard to take off ha. You have to use this certain kind of scissors. :)

  • @bsizzle135 they make cutters and i have two of them. I get taped for football, baseball, and basketball, I also wear braces and get my cleats spated fot football! not hard to get it off

  • @bsizzle135 Easy, tape shark, it'll take three seconds

  • @bsizzle135 they have special tape cutters for that

  • thanks

  • hm...pro

  • too fucking fast! i have to do this to myslef!

  • thiiiiis guy is a bamf

  • thats too much damn tape!!!

  • My school does it basically the same way except for 2 distal anchors at the beginning and our heel locks follow a line from the latteral malleolus to the navicular. And we separate the heel locks into two different strips as well. For our football team our athletic trainer has us use a figure eight and two heel locks instead. Overall a very clean job!

  • my god...im a running back so i gotta tape my ankles so i dont twist them....ima need to go buy a LOT more tape

  • Thank you for posting this!

  • Now THAT is a good tape job! That's what I remember from football, there are some crap tape jobs up here

  • I like the way you do you. I ignored my instructor at Chadron State and did it your way instead because it was explained and demonstrated better. Needless to say, the instructor got all J and failed my for my final exam...luckily we did enough abstracts that I still passed though :D

  • @dapine22 you do it*

  • so he did 4 heel locks instead of 2 and then 2 figure eights?

  • @werellstupid he did Figure8 and Heel Lock Combos

  • This is really interesting and way different than how I was taught with the exception of the end. The heel lock is completely different than the way we do ours. We go under then behind the heel then back to the front at an angle. However the end was all I was looking for. Haha some Trainer I am! I always forget how to do the end. Lol :)

  • Great videos! I'm a trainer in waiting (help out & sling tape while going to school). Just wondering what you used for "thumb locks". Need to maintain some flexibility but prevent hyperextension. I have saw several methods but your videos show fast & very effective methods so just curious how you do it. My way works but its a mess & takes forever. Thanks in advance.

  • lol i wish this guy worked at my school, our ppl dont know shit about taping ankle, just go in circles with the tape

  • This is the right way to tape an ankle that is not injured. Everytime I play soccer, I tape it this way. it allows support and great stability and flexibility. I've seen other videos in youtube and they are either completely wrong, impossible for a soccer player to dribble a ball or for injured ankles where there's no movement of the ankle whatsoever. If you need to tape your ankle for preemptive reasons, this is your way!

  • THAT IS SOME NICE TAPING, I mean really, i can go that fast bt there are a few mistakes I make in the anchors..

  • can you still play basketball with this ankles wraps effectively ?

  • @gus305

    Yes you can.

  • why are you going at the speed of light

  • @edgarosofernandez the purple tape isn't tape at all, it's called prewrap. you can find big rolls of this at any sporting goods store for about 5 dollars each roll. i know for a fact that almost all soccer stores carry them.
