  • Masters of Rock-guitars...

  • The real WIshbone Ash is Powel Ted and Martin Turner and Upton. Their first 6 years were their best!!!!After Ted left they began to decline. They did some nice songs after Teds withdrawal but not as good as their first albums.

  • big maiden influence!

  • best start to a song EVER!

  • I adore this album

  • Former Diamond Head, UFO and Wishbone Ash drummer Robbie France passed away on Saturday (Jan. 14) 2012 at age 53. I wonder how old he was when he did this. RIP Robbie <3

  • @frankymideer Saw them in 73. he was young.

  • @frankymideer well I guess i was wishing it was Robbie, friend tells me he didnt jam with them till way later.I did see him in 89 with Wishbone, thought he was the original. He was awesome.

  • Wonderful Wishbone Ash - classic album from 1970 progressive rock era , live on --------

  • Thanks for the high quality upload. I have this recording on a scratchy old vinyl and never heard that awesome introduction so clearly.

  • I played this song in a band while it was on the radio! It will always be with me!

  • @Kingcrimsonite

You remember the tabs? I want to learn to play this song ...

  • This tune is way too UNFORGETABLE!!! Can't believe my hears, thx for the post.

  • You again Avixz? Nice!

  • 10 people are retarded!

  • In-fucking-credible

  • they rocks like swimming!!!!! thanks for sharing :) peace and love.

  • How can someone dislke such a song???? Tell me how??

  • great album seen this band a couple of times over the years !

  • Saw them Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash live yesterday! They still rocked the hell out of the crowd! Amazing band! =D

  • @dapaoper haha i saw them last friday! Also seen them a few years ago. Turner's still rocking that bass! xD Did he also present the drummer as colonel Gaddafi? :) Both the guitarists are also amazing

  • @WhiteHawk137 He did indeed xD I was surprised as to how few people were there... There were only like, 50 people or so. Seems there is little left of the glory that once was, sadly. :(

  • I'm usually a metalhead but my dad loves all this old school rock and he introduced me to this album a couple of weeks ago and at first i didnt like it but now i fucking love it!

  • @willjohn28 you'll find it hard to find better guitar or lyrics on any metal album, bar Sabbath of course

  • Beautiful.

  • jluc5 = nob 'ed ! Classic!

  • Argus= Brilliant!

  • Fine guitar work; great harmonizing; I was 19 when this first came out

  • Thumb up if you listen this song on old LP :)

  • @jhonnyfilosofer HELL YEA

  • Just discovered this group today, very classical and beautiful song. Riffs and solo are both excellent! And I have no words to characterize this... Just blowing your mind from the first movements!!!

  • the whole album is lightning in a bottle, you could write and play music for a hundred years, and never manage to distill such a perfect creation as this.Mind blowing

  • i just discovered this group today ,, they're just awesome ಠ_ಠ !

  • best introducing solo ever!!!!!!!!!!

  • Remins me of of Hay Making in the schol summer holidays, working on t' farm Ohhhhhhhh wot fun !!!!!!

  • Argus is the oldest city in Europe, if anybody cares..

  • god lend his fingers to the ash to make this album...

  • from the down mediterrean land of macedonia ,the sword reign for centuries.blood ,conquerror and glory was the rule .

  • Wishbone Ash are a legendary rock band. The reason some people dislike them is because they are SOOOO fucking consumed by the manufactured pop/fucking shit that is played today. THANK GOD Wishbone Ash are still going strong!!! keep on rocking lads. Beautiful song BTW!!! People will most likely disagree with my opinion, but ya know, I don't really care....

  • @TheDarkyouth28 Classic rock is the best (i'm 18 and i love real music from all decades)

  • @TheDarkyouth28 dont worry about those wankers. If everyone enjoyed this sort of music, the world would be a better place. Just keep listening to brilliant music such as this and f&^&^& the rest

  • @TheDarkyouth28 Yea :P, you should like de progressive rock 70's

  • @TheDarkyouth28 by your level of language- shows lack of any real brain activity, I guess it is good for you that the heart and lungs work without your cognitive help, or maybe it would be better for all of us if it did not.

  • @TheDarkyouth28 just read your comments on ASH. So fuckin right, shove those plastic bands where the sun dont shine. cheers. Tricky Dicky, Jerseyc.i.

  • cool i had the album back in the day

  • Pero que excelente sonido :D Excellent sound . Great band!!

  • One of the best albums ever made in the history of sound.

  • czuję się zawsze niezależna, nie zniszczalna, wolna, oryginalna, zalotna, po prostu czuję, że jestem sobą słysząc Wishbone Ash

  • 高校生の頃、コピーしたよ。

    ツインリードの元祖、Yeah!

  • how could anyone dislike Wishbone Ash?

  • Great album!!!!!!

  • 甘く切ない高校生時代の曲だぁあああgj

  • sweet

  • when the king will come we are near!! GR

  • Terrific Greensleeves-esque bridge.

  • RIP Richard

  • @Imager8 Sorry, but who's Richard?

  • zajebisty beat

  • 9 people don't believe the King will come.

  • ウィッシュボーン・アッシュの大傑作、"百眼の巨人アーガス"、イントロから叙情リフに~キング・ウィル・カム~甘いメロから後半のA・パウエルのソロヘ!

  • @jluc5 from Br00tal Metalcore-planet.

  • @jluc5 not this one, that's for sure, LOL

  • @jluc5 Bieberanus.

  • Just spun the LP earlier tonight. :-)

  • @psygnsup Me too! :)

  • I understand he will coming from the east with Great Power and Glory!

  • Great tune, this sounds remastered and compressed compared to the version I have though.

  • i think the begginig influenced iron maiden to write ides of march

  • This is my favorite band forever...........

  • If you ever got the chance to see these guys perform...consider yourself

    lucky

  • @artyman3 I saw 'em last year at the Masters Of Rock with Deep Purple and Uriah Heep in Johannesburg, South Africa. :)

    What a gig!

  • this version is slower than the live ones, smoother, and the lead guitarist takes his time saying what he wants, unlike Laurie & the others.. the break @4:32 exemplifies what I mean... development, not a cocaine infused urgency

  • really good, recomended to me by my driving instructor, more into heavy metal of the 80s but this is awesome! ;)

  • Wishbone Ash- Pure fucking quality. My Dad introduced me to this band when I began learning to play guitar aged 8. Argus was the first album I heard, amazing work.

  • talent talent talent

  • 7 deaf assholes dislike this masterpiece ; amazing !

  • This band was my first concert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They actually opened for Johnny Winter. They blew him away.

  • killer album .so many good tunes from a bygone era when rock was fun and people could take it or leave it .

  • Comment removed

  • one of the best rock songs...unfortunately this band did not release any other masterpiece except from Argus

  • @TheNachoscocco Are you crazy? One of the greatest bands ever!!

  • It's obvious where Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden got that dual guitar sound from.

    Wishbone Ash.

    Period.

  • @MaidenMo23 hell yeah

  • DIAMOND......!!!!!!!!!!

  • what 173,233 likes shud be iver 100 billion !! :D

  • @FLOP296 no thats the views

  • One of the best albums ever made I've still got it on vinyl lol, everything about this is memorable even the artwork on the album cover, unforgetable classic so inspirational. They don't make them like this anymore

  • 500 likes, this song is worth more than 5000000 though. :)

  • 7 dislikes for this masterpiece? i can't understand why morons have to dislike songs like this...

  • @KyriosMavrokefalos You answered your own question. They're morons.

  • @KyriosMavrokefalos I hate being argumentative but surely clicking the dislike button is just as valid as clicking the like one. Surely you don't actually expect everybody to like this song.

  • I went to this concert wasted on Orange Barrel Acid. After, I went to work at a bakery until 10 in the morning. When the boss got in he told me I had the day off! That's the day I learnt the word F*** and REALLY! I love this band. A different time, when all things were still possible. They still are but now I'm aware of the obstacles. When I was 17 I didn't.

  • worthwhile

  • Anyone else think of the beginning of the song as the king's journey and then at 1:28 he arrives in all his grandeur?

  • lsd was so relevant for music like this, you either get deeply spiritual religious music like this, or you get strawberry fields, no offence to the beatles.

  • Luke 5:32 "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

    Great,classic ,moving tune!

  • @redpandagal: Keep your latter statement, and please toss the bible-thumping. Thanks.

  • WISHBONE ASH IS & WAS THE MOST UNDER RATED BAND OF ALL TIME,GOD BLESS THEM THE ROCKED THE TRUTH

  • GREAT live version at every show I saw - back in the day when I had hair, teeth & working parts!!

  • ALL HAIL LORD INGLIP!!!!

  • me and my mates used to get stoned to this stuff back at age 15. good times lol

  • stupendum !!

  • Isn't this one of the all time greats -- used to sit and "listen" for hours on end to this album.

  • @mergaman4 You too huh! So did I, it got me interested in the book of revelation, prophets and the bible. I'm now a solidly grounded christian. Check out Sweet Comfort Band on you tube they have an awesome singer.

  • @mahoganyrush300 : at least someone got the message in the music :)

  • I flat wore this album out back in the day. I would sit with a bit of herb and headphones. Man life was sweet.

  • These guys were so incredible... the three bands to see back then were:

    Frigid Pink

    Wishbone Ash

    Quicksilver Messenger Service..!!

  • FRIJID PINK

  • @TheCannabisKing ..OOPS!! sorry... typo... yep: Frijid Pink... thanks!!

  • Saw them live at Reading Rock -in the 70's -my 2nd outdoor Festival:Had never heard of them - they sure as 'fook' deserved more recognition !!!!!And ARGUS still 'leaves me 'Blowin' Free' 40 yrs. LATER!!!!! They even -at same concert - overshadowed the Mahavishnu Orchestra(or maybe it was the 'lucy in the Sky' that 'hit the spot'?!!!! mango splash Creashonrebel@yahoo.com

  • @Mangosunsplash ...lucky !!!

  • TIMELESSSSSSSS!!!

  • i saw them... incerdible how great it is!!!!!!!!!!! i love them^^

  • i'll never forget the first time i listened to this record... just perfect... a cornerstone in my young musical discoverings then (back in 73)... Later in 1975, i saw 'em live in an old roman theatre in Orange and even if Ted Turner was'nt here anymore this special gig was just amazing, thrilling, filled with emotion and fantasy.

They opened up with this song.... No, i'll sure never forget it.

  • иღвღ∂γ ςɑи ɢɨνє ʍє тɦє sღиɢ ღƒ ʍγ ɦєɑʀт.. ..вµт γღµ ςɑи ɢɨνє ʍє тɦє вєɑт...! And this is the BEAT!!! ^^

  • What the f...! Am i travelling in time or what? Thank you

  • Assez émouvant de retomber sur ce morceau ! Je devais avoir 20 ans à peine ...

    Je confirme, l'album de l'année !

  • Saw them a couple of times live in the early 70s and they were great VFM. This album was a must have and I believe it was album of the year when it was released. It was the old story - impossible to follow Argus and they never really reached these heights again. Their vocals were never really Ian Gillan! But they were part of my formative years and every (very good) track brings back many good memories of life when it was less complicated. If you have the original vinyl LP, suggest you keep it.

  • I cry with this song,but i can beat everybody.....really GREAT SONG.

  • Beginning of this song is just awesome!

  • @MrRockas1997

Me too Mr Rockas! You've got good taste, as the Cramps used to say.

  • saw this last night and to be fair there arnt many better live acts if you ask me :)

  • Comment removed

  • @Karano1994 Saw WA in 1969 I think, at the De Montfort Hall in Leicester, they blew me away.

  • @caslox ha i wasnt even born then!! with i had been, there arnt enough bands like this left :)

  • got this lp when i was 15 loved it then love it now, im 48!!!!!!

  • Thought this was lost for all eternity. If I die listening to this, it will have been a good ride. Just not too soon! Some of the absolute best. Lar

  • TOP

  • Holy crap !!!!!

I typed in "wishbone test" (to see about an actual wishbone thing).... and waaay down THIS came up !!!!!! Haven't heard it in I bet 30 years !!! Saw them in '76.... used to listen to this 8-TRACK !!!!!!

'Scuse me while I have some flashbacks.

  • I still love this band!

  • It's really very difficult to distinguish which is the best song of this DIVINE album, but I think "The King Will Come" is probably the best one technically (great riff and outstanding solo, plus the "epic" intro) and lyrically as well (the song speaks about the "second coming of God" on earth). I admit that, although my personal favorites of "Argus" are "Leaf and Stream" and "Sometime World". Finally, this time the stupid ones are 7, who have (and never will) NO IDEA of good music.......

  • of course,,,!

  • One of the best intros ever recorded....still makes my spine tingle thirty-eight years on.

  • Absolutly

  • "Young" enough to own the album [on vinyl] - but 1960s/1970s LPs rot in the loft?

I have not yet dared to digitise vinyl/cassette purchased music and many musicians of that era do not take the route of offering their material in CD/DVD with videos format? I can now see that this might be possible concerning your YouTube item.

  • @thegajowczyk

This song is from 1972, and Takie tango is from 1997, so it can't be plagiarism

  • @republikanin22 I bought a time machine off Ted Turner, so the comment may be correct?

  • Is a plagiarism polish band "Budka Suflera - Takie Tango"

  • Saw these many times......Cracking rock band

  • They were the best at dueling guitar lead pieces ever

  • Comment removed

  • 4:03 Listen it!

  • I'm still waiting for him!

    I know:

    THE KING WILL COME!

  • Yes- People tend to call them deuling guitars, but they convey the harmony that says there is no deul there. I lost their title name for about a decade & then found it as the computers gave us the greater search capabilities... It is interesting to listen to the archieves & place the evolution of the combined Guitar momentum. Then again they'd intro a new member & give them solo space. You just cant hold to what you think they're style of presentaion is...

  • Magik and very playable,, lovely guitar.

  • Last time I heard this song? 1990, for sure...

Endless thanks for uploaing this masterwork! Avixz

    You made my week!

  • the guitar solo............, magnificent!

  • I love this song ....without end always again

  • undoubtfully one of the greatest rock albums ever

  • Some music my freind is lioke that !

  • 4:27 best fucking riff ever

  • @whatwouldshedo

Ah yes gee that brings back memories. Used to learn all the Ash licks when a young lad and that one was up there with the best. Thanks for the reminder.

  • Been listnin 2 ash for 35 years` quite simply the greatest band this country, or any other, with the exception maybe of the Beatles,, has ever produced. Melodies etc

and twin guitars are quite sublime. Oh what mermories.

  • 5 stars

  • I saw them in the 70is 80is and 90is..it's one of my fav songs

and sorry for my catastrophic english

    :))

  • @Eos2424

Well done, you used the word 'catastrophic' well enough!

  • this is the album that got me to like them-their twin guitars duel are the best in the world-until today they has no peers.

  • Does anyuone remeber a british folk song/pop group from around 1975-77, can't remember any name or title, but one song was sung on their best LP, about *Robin Hood&Little John* and also some song of a castle like '****ment Hall' or something? Can't very well google this, as I'll get 2.000.000 hits of Disneys f-g 'Robin Hood'!

  • @zgopify is it Steeleye Span?

  • @RantovRizzia Aren't you the goods! I've been rackin my brain for ages. And not remembering group's name nor title of songs or LPs, noone understood what I meant, small wonder. Thanks a million.

  • these were the first to use twin leads

  • One of the tenth greatest guitar solos in all pop /rock all genres included history ... Question : Better than Clapton Cream ? Answer : listen, and you 'll say YEEEESSSS !!!

  • The first time I heard this was at my very first concert ever - back in the day. I just tagged along to hang with my friends. Was I ever suprised! I think they had two guitarists who were freakin amazing! I've loved this ever since. I think their lp "Live Dates" was recorded at that show ( in Memphis). Could be wrong about that.

    Great band.

  • 彼らのツインギターは最高だったな。特にARGUSは、叙事的なのが気に入ってました。

  • When I was a kid I played Argus until the grooves turned white!

  • I still have this vynal

  • What a record eh..?? what a cover, Centurion viewing a flying saucer..

Yesterday was a better time by far my brother...
