Erchie McGeakle and Johnny Contagious... BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, what rocks did you guys crawl out from under????? WOW! Gerry is perfect in every way!! No other man can compare!!!!
Oh, Good Lord... You really feel it necessary to flaunt your credentials? Are you that threatend and insecure? OK, I'll play along - I'm a freelance journalist and contribute features to a number of broadsheets and periodicals. I have had several short stories published and I'm currently working on a piece about how text-speak has resulted in the deterioration of the English language... You know, things like 'lol', which you just used... Good luck with the dinosaur hunt.
@JohnnyContagious Actually I do not feel either threatened or insecure. Text speak is perfectly acceptable in a forum like this. I wrote constantly as a lawyer, and I do a lot of writing now. I have a brother who is a writer, so I know the struggles writers have. However, directing terms like pensioner, grandma and dinosaur as slights to someone who does not find them offensive, seems a pointless exercise. I have three pensions by the way.
Johnny, for some reason, your comment to me about my snideness does not show up here. Too bad. Your remark about my being "aroused" by Gerard. A youthful comment even for age 42! Arousal for me is long in the past. However, I am still capable of smiling at lovely male qualities, and Gerard has them. The fact that you young men have this much time on your hands speaks volumes. I am retired with multiple degrees and a doctorate, but keep busy with archaeology presentations locally. You?
Johnny, you are at least more melliflous in your remarks, I suppose age has given you some insight! Butler made it through lawschool, can proudly claim to be one of the few lawyers to be fired within 2 weeks of qualifying , lol. He owns a production co, has investments, and is articulate in long interviews. and is a good businessman. He has something that draws women of all ages, and none of you understand. Charm, looks, intelligence, rare qualities among men.

@jackoboyo1977 yes, dear I know, but they have different mixtures and ancestries among them. The Scots got the better end of the ancestry deal than the English, perhaps that is where I should have been clearer? To Americans, the Brits are usually the English, those people who are so pale one may need sun glasses to look at them, and regularly in need of full service dentistry. The Irish, the Scots and the Welsh are much better looking. Perhaps the English are too inbred?
@jackoboyo1977 Jacko, I fear rationality will have as much impact with the bonnie pensioner as a Gerard Butler film will have upon the Oscars, the Golden Globes, the Baftas, Sundance, and every other awards ceremony in the world. As for the generalisation Grandma makes about American perceptions on British nationality I personally know many Americans who are not hindered by this outdated view.
@ErchieMcGeakle 'Cockend' is a bit harsh, Erchie, as funny as it is. He doesn't strike me as a particularly intelligent individual, nor an actor of any kind of depth, but he has reached stratospheric levels of success due to the happy accident that his physical attributes fire the lurid imaginations of women from as young as teenagers to pensioners like 'Grandma', as you call her. And that commands a measure of respect. He's not the thinking women's man, I grant you, but still.
@ErchieMcGeakle Ha, lol! You cannot possibly believe that someone your age can bother me by calling me Grandma? That is a proud title for many women. You are stuck in a misanthropic, misogynistic view that rings of the 70s and 80s, and since I was there, I know!
@bonnieallmine Christ, lighten up, Grandma. And I happen to adore women, not the crusty, sneering, arrogant, and patronising harpies you represent, but the intelligent, humorous, even-tempered, and enchanting creatures who are defined by considerably more than carnal attraction. I'm sure you know some, or maybe you even were one.....once.
@ErchieMcGeakle actually a bit more acceptable! I was never even-tempered. My doctorate was in law, and lawyers are often a pain in the butt; I lecture in Archaeology as a retirement gig. I hope you understand that I was responding to what I felt was a one dimensional comment about GB; intelligent comments about failings would never have gotten any response from me. Other fans of his that I talk to are a female physician, an Anthropology professor, & a young and lovely geography grad student
@ErchieMcGeakle What a great name you have! Can't be real! Although the Brits have, in addition to their famous or infamous teeth, some unusual and quirky names. Scots are much, much better looking than the Brits. Amazing how many millions of women love his charisma; clearly women are not as intelligent as someone with your name and your pleasant attitude.
@bonnieallmine Your erroneous remark about British nationality has already been picked up, so need for me to go there. As for the comment about female intelligence then your gender has shown, since time immemorial, that when presented with base sexuality, be it through Elvis' hips, or Paul and George's shaking heads, they are reduced to shrieking, hysterical, hormonally crazed imbeciles. And if you sense one iota of charisma in this empty husk then you're in worse shape than I thought.
@ErchieMcGeakle you're a douche. Ur probably jobless with a fat ass that's why u have lots of time to purposely search for a Gerard Butler video and post a nonsense comment. Wow. Good job. lol
@ErchieMcGeakle I saw your gmail comment. Then I looked at your age, and laughed. So very young, and that narrow view of women fits your age, and level of maturity. That kind of screechy faux "intellectual" raving is never convincing. Try again. I am well aware that the tiny isles your people come from are made up of several groups of people, some of whom are reluctantly British. To me, Brits will always be the very English John Bull.
@bonnieallmine Likewise I saw and read your comment, then checked your age... 69 years old and you still labour under the misconception that only the English represent the Brits? Tsk. And seriously, a crack about dental and sun deficiencies? Why don't you complete your litany of dull-witted perceptions with a comment about the weather? Your understanding of the UK appears to have been gleaned from a leaflet distributed to septuagenarians in a Florida Care Home. It suits, you... Grandma.
@nadineS04 Sure, LA is between Hawaii and NY. He is often in LA in the winter. Since he is doing a surfer movie in a few months, he might have been Hawaii to work with a famous surfer dude.
@bonnieallmine Your comment about maturity is interesting, given your snide little swipe at the size of the UK, your use of teen terminology and the very fact that at your age you are aroused by an actor almost half your age. Your ignorance and arrogance is a small-scale represenation of the national swagger that has resulted in your country being loathed by most of the world. And your comment about the Scots, Irish and Welsh being better looking than the English is hilarious in its absurdity.
Gerry didn't look his best, really. Colin Firth owned that stand :D

Just an absolute cockend. A charisma vacuum with one of the worst transatlantic accents I've ever heard and very little talent.
