Okay - I am really liking your videos and raw ingredients! I also like your personality! I'm putting together a list of other channels that go along with my healthy eating point of view and you are now on it! I will post it on my roundorama blog! Love it!
@jacksonjacksonjjj Hey Jackson! I agree It may be a lil' bit much fat for most peeps, however it did help me during my raw transition to go heavy on the nuts and seeds which kept me from going back to other less healthy options. I have a recipe video for a lower fat raw granola based mainly on soaked and dehydrated buckwheat groats and sunflower seeds on my youtube channel! Best wishes ~ Rory :0)
I have a question but first I want to say I am impress with this recipe. Now, my question is what if I wanted to mix some oats and a little agave or dates together and dehydrate them for that crunch and mix it with your recipe. Do you think that would work.
I am beginning to go raw and I wanted to start with raw breakfast and snacks first and then the lunch, etc.
@fontrella Hey fontrella! I think soaked and rinsed oat groats ground in your food processor with some dates and maybe cinnamon or vanilla if ya like and just a pinch of sea salt would make an awesome granola base. Just spread the ground mixture onto dehydrator trays and dry until crunchy and break up into desired pieces. Best wishes ~ Rory :0)
i find out that agave nectar is not raw and it is bad for your health. the really raw nectar is the nectar that the native Mexicans use in it is rare and hard to find and very expensive almost 32 a jar!
@loveallhappiness Hey LoveAllHappiness! It's true a lot of agave is produced in a less than ideal way. There are compaines producing truly raw agave such as ultimate superfoods. I prefer to use raw honey or home made date syrup! :0)
hey, I have just started eating more raw foods (right now at about 75%) and it occurs to me that there are not a lot of raw recipes that involve the actual bread and cereal group which is supposedly one of the most important food groups. For instance, oat meal and such. Can you tell me why that is?
@myfavoriteperson Hey MyFavoritePerson! A lot of raw recipes utilize seeds and nuts instead of grains because they're easier to digest and don't contain gluten (which is a common allergen for many). There are some raw recipes that use sprouted quinoa and buckwheat out there, I love using sprouted and dehydrated buckwheat to make granola! If you're doing high raw oats are an awesome cooked grain because they contain lil' gluten and are rich in silica. :0)
@xmantidx I've cut gluten out of my diet for a week and it's been pretty easy. I have migraines and a few autoimmune diseases and I'm hoping this makes me feel better!
Hey. I've heard that nuts and seeds should be eaten by very small amounts because those are very hard to digest and most of it will just not get digested(perhaps rot, dunno).
When I personally make cereal I usually add more fruit or berries and like a quarter cup of seeds
xmantidx, why don't you just use oats instead of all the soaked nuts and seeds? This video was very interesting to me, but looks REALLY heavy. I'm wondering if raw foodists have a problem with oats because maybe the process of rolling oats involves a lot of heat. Any thoughts?
Hey noonej! You're right on with your thoughts on the oats, they're usually heated quite a bit during the rolling process. However there is a company thats producing low heat rolled oats using sprouted oat groats. They can be a bit pricey though, so I usually go with nuts and seeds myself. If oats work for you. I would go for it, or you can try soaked and dehydrated oat or buckwheat groats, they're a lot lighter than nuts. Hope these ideas help! ~ Rory :0)
Im sorry i couldnt hear what you said you used for the sweetener, could you get back at me and let me know.. And good job on this video it was very helpful!
Hi tatigoz! I used agave nectar as a sweetener for this recipe, but my current fave sweetner is raw honey! It's loaded with enzymes and has antifungal properties! Thanks for the kudos on my video! ~ Rory :0)
You can soak them and after rinsing and draining them you can store them in a baggy or other sealed container in the fridge for about 4 days. Thanks for the comment! Peace~ Rory :0)
I want to make my own milk as I have given up the cow stuff due to parasites. Where can I find a recipe that tells me how many almonds and what to do etc....? Thanks!
Hey Sophia! I have an older vid on my channel on making nutmilk with a simple recipe and the sidebar has some updated info on making nut-milk on it as well! If there's any info on there that I missed send me a message or comment and I'll be glad to help you out! Peace~ Rory :0)
Hey Shotzy! Sorry for the mumbling, it's agave nectar. It's a really great low glycemic syrup made from cactus sap. They carry it at most health food stores and even some grocery stores now! Thanks for the question! Peace~Rory :0)
Hey Shotzy! Yeah I soak the nuts and seeds and seeds in filtered water to remove the enzyme inhibitors. It makes them a lot easier to digest and taste better ( in my opinion ) when it comes to walnuts and almonds because it reduces the tannic acids! :0)
Sorry Anna but, I have'nt been to OC before so I'm not familliar with the local resteraunts. Check out Give it to Me Raw (the adress is on my channel) they should have some good raw resteraunt listings! Thanks for checkin' out my vids and you got quite a cool show! Peace~ Rory :0)
Hey Jay $!! Thanks for the props man! Breakfast was one of my biggest humps to get over when goin' raw too. This cereal helped me out big-time. Enjoy it and rawk on man! ~ Rory :0)
If you make it too weak ..yeah it can taste like that but, you can adjust the creaminess of it when you make it..We usually make ours with a ratio of 1 almonds water to 3 parts water but, occasionally we'll lessen the water to 2 parts and it comes out really rich! You can also add sweetners , vanilla, cinnamon, cacao powder or other flavors of your choice to tweak it your liking! Thanks for the question! Peace~ Rory :0)

Hi, I like your video- thanks! I like you better than Ani Phyo. You are more sincere. Your vids are a little fuzzy but your recipes look delish all the more. Thank you so much.
Good question! Well I'm not sure on the issue of combining fruits and nuts , I like to consume nuts with fruits so that the fats and proteins in the nuts balance out the sugars in the fruit. For the bloating part , I've not had much of that with nuts that have been soaked ( and or soaked and dehydrated ) ,I've had it big-time with ones that have'nt though!
The soaking process leaves them much more digestible and I don't notice much if any digestion issues. I think it's different ...
I was always under the belief you should not combine sweet fruits like bananas with nuts as they do not combine properly and will cause side effects suck as bloating, gas etc... What is your feeling about that?
Woops forgot to put my reply to your question in the reply box ( insert noise of me slappong my forehead here).. heres the response below and thanks again for the question! :0)
Wow more technical difficulties!! I posted the second half of the response days ago and it's not shown up yet *insert noise of dissatisfaction here* sorry again HiwayRanger here goes the rest of the response, I think it's different for different people however some raw-foodists don't even pre-soak their nuts and have no issues so I'd suggest experimenting to see what works for you! I hope this was helpful :0) if not or even if so please post again! Thanks again for the question!
I seem to be having some issues with the "reply" function so I wanna thank everyone for their comments = Thrive,Hopey,Michelle( Back 'atcha :0) ), and RawVeganChick! You all rock! Enjoy the cereal!
That looks incredible! I am so glad I came across this video. I'm a very new raw newbie, so just starting out. I was kind of worried about my cereal cravings that would arise in the future, but this would be perfect for those days..Thanks!
OMG I have been fantasizing about breakfast cereal during my fast and this looks fabulous. Definitely going to have make this when I get home on the weekend. Thanks!

oh looks good
but I personally do not want to consume over 50g of fat just for breakfast..
simply too much fat for breakfast. My estimation is that that one single bowl of cereal is morethan 700 calories at the minimum.
I would add more fruits, possibly the ones with lower sugar.

agave is not good for you like we all once believed. It was just a great marketing hype. Its high glycemic and not good for diabetics.
