This was Kevin's first ride as a full time GP racer. His previous rides (6 or 7 in the GP's) were on sub-par teams and this was his first effort on an actual full time GP team. The Suzuki was really underpowered compared to the other factory teams. This shows what a great talent Schwantz was (is) and not even the great riders of today can hold a candle to what his talent is. I think had he been on the Yamaha, he would have dominated the field for many years with numerious championships.
