Or you could go nuts like i did and build a 4x4x4 fish tank with lights and a swamp for them with fish, plants and frogs and release flies into it and let them catch them themselves.

you do not have to feed it bugs. dionaea muscipula can go its entire life without eating a single bug, and still be healthy as can be :) it just needs the right watering, soil, and sunlight. idk about humidity... i live in arizona and mine seem to be adapting.

Me and my girlfriend bought Venus Fly Traps at the home-depot about a 2 months ago and I've started to notice black dead edges appearing on older leaves, what's causing this...fungus? fluoride burn? I've only been giving it distilled water, but home-depot may not have been. I let it soak in water until it evaporates or gets used and then I let it dry out for a few days before re-watering.

one misconception is that it is difficult to raise Venus fly traps but this is not true...all you have to do is give them constant sun, constant water, keep you house humid, and hand feed them insects...holy shit ill have a couple kids that sounds easier

I have a question. I've got a venus flytrap now for about 5 months but the stem isn't growing at all. And the time to bloom has come but the stem of my plant is turning dark at the tip (end). 1. The food didnt touch at least two striking points in the plants mouth. Look inside its mouth and look for some tiny needle like stuff in its mouth, make sure it touches them in a twenty sencond time lapses!

2. The plants dead.
