americans just rememba wat they won not wat they lost. shud we be going on and on about how we had the most powerful empire in world history or that we have won more wars than any other country woo wooo. yanks won 1 war on their homeland it took them years and we were 3,000 miles from home. something to be proud of???
Hmmm, acording to every other source other than u thats not true. You attacked us once, got ur 'liberty' (for wat its worth) but with the help of the french. The second time you tried by urself u were obliterated but we gave u mercy! We should have killed u all!
Gen. Washington was smart. If Christmas fell on Friday, then Boxing/St. Stephen's Day would have fallen on Monday. Then with the substitute Bank Holiday on Tuesday, and New Years' Eve on Thursday, he'd have caught the Brits in the middle of a nine-day weekend. No wonder they were surprised. Good show!
Heck, first-graders probably watched Sesame Street in the 70s (as much as the show talked about starting school then). I bet that the upper end of the target audience understood some of this, especially with all the other bicentennial hype on kids' TV then.
haha "SUURPRIIIIISE!"

This is funny. The American Revolution is a totally bloodless and non-violent way. Can't see Sesame Street characters with guns huh? lol

Sesame Street is too complex for you, why don't you go watch Titanic again?

We traveled 3000 miles from home to save your yours from a bunch of Germans. Twice. You're welcome.

LOL!! Great video! Just one problem...Washington surprised German soldiers in that attack, not British.

I agree, MuppetPro. It may not have been historically accurate, but it was hysterically funny! :-)

THis is pretty funny! I like the part where they randomly pose for a picture.

These bicentennial skits were waaay too advanced for the average Sesame Street viewer. But they're neat to see.

Muppet Show fans would listen to one of these characters in this sketch. George Washington sounds a lot like Link Hogthrob.
