  • haha "SUURPRIIIIISE!"

  • Isn't that Guy Smiley dressed up as George Washington?

  • Grover sounds a little bit less than straight in this skit.

Always talking about a party and saying surpriiiiise!

  • Hah hah hah

i wonder what the redcoats would of done if they HAD done this .....

    ....

    !Present Arms! FIRE

  • lol

  • This is funny. The American Revolution is a totally bloodless and non-violent way. Can't see Sesame Street characters with guns huh? lol

  • americans just rememba wat they won not wat they lost. shud we be going on and on about how we had the most powerful empire in world history or that we have won more wars than any other country woo wooo. yanks won 1 war on their homeland it took them years and we were 3,000 miles from home. something to be proud of???

  • Sesame Street is too complex for you, why don't you go watch Titanic again?

  • We traveled 3000 miles from home to save your yours from a bunch of Germans. Twice. You're welcome.

  • For goodness' sakes, stop arguing, it's freakin' SESAME STREET! It's supposed to give you a good laugh!

    "SAY CHEESE! Okay." LOLLLLL

  • Hmmm, acording to every other source other than u thats not true. You attacked us once, got ur 'liberty' (for wat its worth) but with the help of the french. The second time you tried by urself u were obliterated but we gave u mercy! We should have killed u all!

  • Thanks for having mercy,,it paid off didn't it

  • shut up, brit.

  • they were fighting german hessians

    not british redcoats

  • Stupid Traitors to the Crown. I'd Like to hang draw and quatre that twat.

  • Grover will shoot you with his musket!

  • Where's Grover's time machine?

  • MacLeaper should bring back the rest of those American Revolution sketches.

  • Well his account is already closed so it's not gonna happen unless he opens up a new account(slim chance though).:(

  • LOL!! Great video! Just one problem...Washington surprised German soldiers in that attack, not British.

  • Isnt frank Oz from england?

  • Anyone remember the Dolly Madison special "Stars and Stripes Zingers" treats for the Bicentennial?

  • That was very funny.

    _Eric ;)

  • I agree, MuppetPro. It may not have been historically accurate, but it was hysterically funny! :-)

  • Gen. Washington was smart. If Christmas fell on Friday, then Boxing/St. Stephen's Day would have fallen on Monday. Then with the substitute Bank Holiday on Tuesday, and New Years' Eve on Thursday, he'd have caught the Brits in the middle of a nine-day weekend. No wonder they were surprised. Good show!

  • THis is pretty funny! I like the part where they randomly pose for a picture.

  • These bicentennial skits were waaay too advanced for the average Sesame Street viewer. But they're neat to see.

  • Heck, first-graders probably watched Sesame Street in the 70s (as much as the show talked about starting school then). I bet that the upper end of the target audience understood some of this, especially with all the other bicentennial hype on kids' TV then.

  • I watched sesame street in 3rd grade in the 90's

  • Muppet Show fans would listen to one of these characters in this sketch. George Washington sounds a lot like Link Hogthrob.
