  • Also if you use a pencil to grease nut & bridge it helps lubricate & allows strings to move more freely ! Graphite rules !

  • Sustenance , You may have a spur @ either the nut or bridge or perhaps a fret, check where break occurs & keep corrosion & dead skin off strings , use a small file to remove bur & you should be good to go ! luv ya's !

  • Yous gonna spoil them chickens.

  • & they sound better & are easier to fret w/o all that stuff on them ! Beats buying new strings ! Keep up the great work I

  • Hey Sustenance just wanted to share w/ you a little trick I employ to get extra months life out of my strings ! I take an old pair of underwear & cut the elastic out to make a piece about 8 " long , next I slip one end under the string & pull up & make ends meet , then grab the section of elastic near the string , twist & run the length of the string ,this removes old dead skin , corrosion , & if you remove that stuff off your strings it makes them last longer

  • @steveyboy3333 I aparently have some kind of issue with my playing. I break strings even when they are new. I recently changed over to a really thin soft pick and I still keep breaking them.

  • @SustenanceNCovering Where do your strings break? I'm a professional musician and rarely break strings. If they're breaking close to where your pick hits the strings then your breaking them how you're playing...if they break near the nut or the bridge then you've probably got a tiny burr that cuts its way thru the string over time. Let me know and I'll try and help if I can. You look like you play pretty hard and do a lot of strumming...you might consider moving to an acoustic w/heavy strings.

  • @mikemorrison281 I have 3 guitars and I break strings on every one of them. I'll have to wait to break another one and see where it snaps, but they never break at the pick so it may be that I need to smooth out my frets. My brother in law plays all the time and he says that he never breaks strings either.

  • @SustenanceNCovering If they're breaking at the nut (at your headless stock or the tuners on a regular guitar) try putting a little graphite where the strings cross over the nut...if they're breaking on the bridge, then you need to get a tiny TINY file (round not flat) and gently file the bridge saddle on the string that keeps breaking...the strings CAN dig a canal out of the saddle and develop sharp edges over time that will eventually cut the string...good luck.

  • Southern Rock Apocalypse style....LOL Good stuff!

  • Thanks, always interesting! Entertaining and informative, too.

Your musical style reminds me of James Mcmurtry.

  • @Blondegg I just looked up Mr. Mcmurtry. If my momma would just let me grow my hair out I could be him. He is only 2 months older than me.

  • great job brother!!! sorry i haven't gotten back to you sooner. i haven't been on in a while. you done a great job. take care and God bless.

  • @Dewayneyork1 I'm writing a really cool song as we speak.. I may post a vid of it if we ever get a rainy day. I'm not on much when it's warm outside myself.

  • I love it, I want a full concert. Hope your doing well.

  • @NOH8888 No more music on this channel. I started to write a song about the fall of the Empire a couple of months ago, but once it got warm down here I started to catch up on my garden and such and lost interest in my little song.

  • Rock on!!!! I'll bring down my keyboards and we'll be famous,,,,,well maybe!

  • @StatenIslandPrepper In the words of Nigel Tufnel, "This one goes to eleven". If you didn't see Spinal Tap that probably doesn't make any sense.

  • Rock on!!!!

  • I love that Movie, O Brother where art thou... seen it many times... Nice playing....!!

  • @ohoh00007 It was just a simple lick with no refrence at all. But look at what it led to.

  • @SustenanceNCovering Do you like Lynard Skynard?... There is a great tribute band where I am, they are going to be big... .

  • @ohoh00007 I could be wrong, but once the last surviving member of Leonard Skynard died didn't Leonard Skynard itself become a tribute band. I'm just saying. Johnny Van Zandt was like 3 years old or something when the band was formed.

  • DANG MAN! CAN YOU EVER PLAY!!!! I LOVE IT!!!

  • @Sheila6325 Over the top....... Not my playing, your comment.

  • @SustenanceNCovering No exageration at all, I did LOVE IT. You underestimate your talent.

  • @Sheila6325 I hate to admit it but every time that someone says something like this, I go back and watch this video over, and you know what...... It is soooooo cool. I really like the way the camera shakes when I hit that hard E.

  • @SustenanceNCovering SEE.... I told you. I just listened again and sure enough, their even better to me now then before. A true sign, that it's a keeper. You really do play well, and we can all use a touch of the magic that moves the heart, head, and feet of us humans. Music, to me, it the ONE THING that can join us together. Getting the "juices" flowing is "a good thing"

  • @Sheila6325 People who are creative in any way usually don't fit into any mold. Probably why I never was able to get me one of them cubicals to sit in all day. A lot ot the people in this here youtube community that doesn't fit in have videos that show a fair amount of creativity.

  • Soooooooooooooooooo Smooooooooooooooooooth, Al
