It is because of clips such as this that I appreciate You Tube. I can't ever get enough of the Conniff sound from the earliest days. Is this the same configuration of singers who recorded the "Christmas With Conniff" album?

@audiophile55 Ray used 13 men and 12 women for his "Christmas With Conniff" (1959) recordings. He continued this configuration for the 'Singers' albums from the first "Talk Of The Town" (1959) until "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing" (1971), In these television kinescopes, Jay Meyer, Ray's longtime vocal contractor during this period, can be seen swinging his tenor at the left of the men's chorus. The audio is a little high pitched, due to the different speed from the American video system, I think it's called "PAL", so, it sounds like Ray and the singers are talking/singing in a higher key.

No, it's not a track. All of the singers that were hired were all professional studio musicians. I know this because my father, Jay Meyer was Ray's Assistant Conductor/Contractor for 13 years.

Is your Dad the last guy on the left, the fourth 'note', 1:49, in that 8 note chord that the singers create one note at a time? What years did he work with Ray? Was he on all Ray's recordings during that time? I just picked up the 'Friendly Persuasion' album with your Dad's name & picture on the back, taking during the recording session in Feb/1965. Please answer as a reply here so others can know more about your Dad! chuck

I believe he worked with Ray from 1962 to 1975. During that time he was on all of the recordings. He was hiring the singers. Evy
