I always get so giddy watching this video, seeing a man display near-virtuosity on two instruments in the course of less than 2 minutes isn't very common.
The drummer is boss throughout the whole jazz section, adding substance to the rythm without being too overwheming, and you don't realise how much you're hearing the bassist in the rock section until the guitar soos come along, those two did excellently.
@dvidgreen - flute became a rocking instrument ever since Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) invented it to be a rocking instrument in the late 60's ... cheers rodolforibas, you were here 2 days before and you're right mate ;-)
bonkers, but true masters, awesome musicians , and songs that will always be played, probably the best band the seventies gave us, akerman is one of the best guitarist who walked the planet, if not the best, a pick flickin superman ,, awesome melodic speed ,, and when your that good , he can say what ever he likes,;period,
Ammazza ke schifo de flautista...sta sempre sul do e sul si...insomma facesse qualche volta a casa qualche scaletta...ke gli fa bene.E' proprio una merda.

@eriksoer Thanks, but I'm not so sure- I think I would have recognised it if it was. In fact the whole layout of controls looks very unlike any fender valve guitar or bass amp I've ever seen and I wondered from the style if it was one of the second generation transistor amps, perhaps not Jan's but perhaps the bassist's. I'm not being dogmatic about this. I'm genuinely uncertain, although it's appeared in other film of the band from this oeriod.
@TheChopstickWitch Listen to a few of Thijs solo stuff, I think one song is called Pastorale, and all you can hear is nobuo's classic style to a tee. They both must have had the same composer as a major influence. I would love to find out who and listen to it.
@Liekkek So maybe you should listen to some samples of someone's music before you comment on their sexual orientation :) So have you checked out Jethro Tull yet? I recommend Aqualung or maybe Locomotive Breath for starters. You may not like the yodeling on this but these guys are good musicians. Guitarist way ahead of his time in the 70's
