it's hard to get a solid hit with this on the stick. i don't get the volume. it also unbalances the stick and makes it feel very awkward with zero rebound / bounce off the drum head. it's basically just my favorite egg shaker now. cool idea though.

Yes, when you add mass (weight) it changes the feel of the stick so the stickball offers its own special challenges. It takes some practice and a strong grip, but I enjoy using it in the settings that I demonstrate in this video. Thanks for posting your comments and good luck!" -Billy Ward

In all reality its a low volume percussive accessory. Getting solid hits out of it is kind of irrelevant. If you bought an egg shaker you wouldnt be buying it for anything hard, this thing is for some nimble stuff, and it pulls it off great.

I bought one of these after watching Billy Ward demo it.
It is all he say's it is what a great way to use your creative mind!!
