A few comments. I believe that the original owner of MtGox sold to the current company. That is why it got hacked, during the transition the admin password was given to the wrong person.
Also, you said that point of sale transactions are a weakness of Bitcoins. But using something like bit-pay makes POS transactions actually easier than paying in cash or credit cards.
