in stepmania there are no levels it's just whatever the author makes it.

It's determined by the amount of air and other things it has and there are levels not just modes like there are light songs that read level 20, on some themes it shows it to you so you can easily see but on other ones it is showed by a foot meter

just right click and press extract.

if its .smzip, you should be able to just double click on it and it'll go into stepmania.

However, if its a zip file then you need to extract it and put it into your songs folder. Which is in your stepmania folder(in your program files)
